Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities / KPI’s

Clinical Care Delivery

  • Perform patient triage, assessment, diagnosis support, and monitoring
  • Provide evidence-based nursing care across all service areas
  • Administer medication safely using the 5 Rights principle
  • Respond to emergencies, trauma, and occupational injuries

Patient Safety & Infection Control

  • Enforce infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols
  • Maintain safe clinical environment in high-risk industrial setting
  • Ensure proper PPE usage for staff and patients

Community & Occupational Health

  • Deliver health education and outreach programs to communities
  • Support occupational health programs (injury care, surveillance, screening)
  • Participate in public health initiatives (vaccinations, disease control)

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate patient records (manual/electronic systems)
  • Ensure compliance with reporting timelines and regulatory standards.

Collaboration & Teamwork

  • Coordinate with doctors, lab, pharmacy, and emergency response teams
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and shift handovers

Equipment & Resource Management

  • Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of medical equipment
  • Report equipment faults promptly

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Adhere to AML policies, ethics, and professional standards
  • Participate in CPD, clinical training, and quality improvement programs

Clinical Quality & Patient Care

  • 95% compliance with patient assessment and documentation standards
  • Reduction in clinical errors/medication incidents (Target: 0 preventable incidents)
  • 90% adherence to treatment protocols and guidelines.

Patient Safety & Infection Control

  • 95% IPC compliance rate (hand hygiene, PPE, waste management)
  • Zero tolerance for major infection outbreaks linked to negligence.

Emergency Response (Mining Context)

  • Response time to emergencies: ≤ 5 minutes (on-site target where applicable)
  • 90% stabilization success rate before referral/transfer.

Community Health Impact

  • Number of community outreach programs conducted per quarter
  • Improvement in community health indicators (e.g., reduced preventable cases)
  • 85% patient satisfaction score (employees and community patients.

Documentation & Reporting

  • 98% completeness and accuracy of patient records
  • Timely submission of reports: 100% on schedule

Training & Development

  • Completion of mandatory CPDs and certifications (100%)
  • Participation in clinical drills and emergency simulations (minimum quarterly)

Qualifications / Experience

  • Must have completed all required training in nursing studies from a recognized and accredited nursing institution.
  • A bachelor’s degree in nursing/health sciences/public health.
  • Hold a current license from the Liberian Board of Nursing & Midwifery (LBNM) with CPD credits.
  • Active registered membership with The Liberia Nurse’s Association.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of active practice in Liberia.

Health and Safety

1.1. Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, standards, and procedures.

1.2. Participate in health, safety and environment training programs to understand potential hazards, safety procedures, and emergency protocols.

1.5. Wear appropriate PPE as required for specific tasks or environments and ensure that it is maintained and used correctly.

1.7. Follow established safe work practices and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, or illnesses.

1.8. Operate machinery, tools, and equipment safely, following manufacturer's instructions and the AML safety guidelines.

1.9. Maintain a clean and orderly workspace to reduce hazards and prevent accidents.

1.9.1. Promote a culture of health and safety awareness among coworkers by encouraging safe behaviors and reporting unsafe conditions.

1.9.2. Participate in health and safety committees or meetings as required, providing input and suggestions for improving workplace safety.

1.9.3. Keep accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities as required by company policy and regulations.

Environment

1.1. Oversee and monitor the environmental performance of your department's functions, ensuring high levels of awareness and compliance with company environmental policies and relevant environmental laws.

1.2. Regularly review environmental performance metrics and indicators to track progress, identify trends, and address areas for improvement.

1.3. Ensure all environmental incidents are reported promptly and investigated thoroughly in line with company policies and legal requirements.

1.4. Uphold a culture of environmental responsibility and compliance within the organization by setting clear expectations for incident reporting and response at all levels.

1.5. Collaborate with the Environment team to identify opportunities for environmental improvement and develop strategic programs to enhance sustainability practices.
