Job Description

About Vialto

Vialto is a global professional services firm that helps organizations and their people navigate the complexities of global mobility, tax, immigration, and rewards. Our Legal, Risk and Compliance (LRC) function spans a broad portfolio of programs — from employment law, data privacy, and financial crime to company secretarial compliance, business continuity, and contracts management — serving as the firm's governance backbone across multiple jurisdictions.

About the role

We are looking for curious, organized interns to join a team that is actively preparing the LRC function for the next generation of AI and automation tools. This is not a traditional legal internship. You will not be doing business-as-usual administrative work. Instead, you will help strengthen the operational foundations of our programs so they are ready for AI-enabled ways of working.

That means getting involved with how programs are structured, how data is organized, and how processes are documented — the practical groundwork that determines whether AI and automation can be adopted effectively and safely. You will be paired with a program owner and guided by an AI Transformation Lead who will scope your work, support your development, and keep your efforts connected to the bigger picture.

What you will do

Your work will vary depending on which program you are assigned to, but will draw from the following types of activities:

· Reviewing and organizing program data to improve consistency, accessibility, and structure.

· Consolidating information that currently sits across multiple locations into single, reliable sources.

· Drafting process documentation, playbooks, and standard operating procedures where none currently exist.

· Conducting research — regulatory developments, peer benchmarking, tool landscape analysis — and structuring findings into usable outputs.

· Building operational tooling such as trackers, dashboards, and structured reference materials.

· Supporting the setup and documentation of AI-enabled tools and workflows under governance standards.

· Quality-reviewing AI-generated outputs and helping calibrate how tools are used within the function.

All work is performed under a clear governance framework and within Vialto's approved toolset. You will be trained on the standards and expectations before you begin.

What is in it for you

This internship gives you hands-on exposure to the intersection of legal operations, data governance, and AI enablement within a complex, cross-border professional services function. You will work alongside experienced legal, risk, and compliance professionals and gain practical experience that is increasingly relevant as AI reshapes how legal teams operate. By the end of the program, you will have:

· A working understanding of what it takes to prepare a legal function for AI adoption — not the theory, but the real operational and governance work behind it.

· Direct experience with AI governance standards, responsible AI use, and the kind of structured thinking that organizations are building their AI strategies around.

· A portfolio of real, documented work products you built and handed off — assets that continue to be used after your internship ends.

· Confidence using AI tools in a professional, governed environment.

About you

Essential

· A graduate or final-year student with a genuine interest in law, legal operations, compliance, or risk management.

· Strong research and written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate work for a non-specialist audience.

· Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines.

· Comfortable working with data: you do not need to be technical, but you should be willing to clean, structure, and organize information in tools like Excel, SharePoint, and MS Lists.

· Curious about AI and its application in legal and compliance work. We are not looking for prompt engineers — we are looking for people who want to understand how AI is changing the way legal teams operate.

· Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook).

· Self-directed and comfortable working remotely, with strong communication and time-management skills.

Desirable

· Prior exposure to an in-house legal environment, a law firm, a professional services firm, or a legal technology setting.

· Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Microsoft Copilot.

· An interest in governance, data management, or process improvement.

· Experience with project tracking tools, dashboards, or basic workflow automation.

Why this role is different

Most internships put you on the periphery of a team's day-to-day work. This one puts you at the center of a transformation. You will leave with a portfolio of real assets you built, registered, and handed off, and with a working fluency in AI governance that very few early-career professionals have.

How to apply

Submit your CV/resume and a short cover letter (no more than one page) explaining why this role interests you and what you would bring to it. We value clarity and curiosity over polish. If you have examples of structured research, data projects, or anything that shows how you organize and communicate complex information, we would like to see them.
