Job Description

This position will be working at Stearns County Jail in St. Cloud. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is an integral member of the Coordinated Care Clinic’s multidisciplinary team. This role is responsible for patient rooming, performing laboratory draws and EKGs, and communicating test results and other pertinent medical information to patients and providers. The LPN or CMA supports the efficient day-to-day operations, assists providers with patient care, and ensures accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR). Additional responsibilities include telephone triage and information gathering for communication to the RN or provider, administration of medications and immunizations as directed, and recognizing patient abnormalities or urgent care needs and seeking appropriate assistance.

Schedule:

  • Casual | Variable hours every two weeks
  • Days | 4-hour and 8-hour shifts
  • Variable shift times between 6am-10pm
  • Includes weekend and holidays

Pay and Benefits:

  • LPN starting pay begins at $24.21 per hour; exact wage determined by years of related experience
  • Pay range: $24.21-37.08 per hour
  • CMA starting pay begins at $21.54 per hour; exact wage determined by years of related experience
  • Pay range: $21.54 - $32.96 per hour

Qualifications:

  • LPN
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Minnesota required
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider cared required per established policy
  • CMA/RMA
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) with one of the following:
  • American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
  • American Medical Technologists (AMT)
  • NCMA through National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
  • National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
  • American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
  • Must provide proof of pass notification prior to start with verification of official certification or registration within 3 months of exam date.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider cared required per established policy.
