Breast Surgery
The LPN has knowledge, nurse training and skill sets specific to populations of people with mental health and substance use diagnoses.
Performs direct patient care and related tasks as outlined by scope of practice and including but not limited to:
Assists RN with assessment of patient’s clinical and functional status. Performs assessment of patient’s clinical and functional status with input and oversight of an RN.
Contributes to completion of patient database and ongoing assessment.
Considers the patient’s culture, age and developmental level.
Documents concurrently.
Identifies patient risk factors.
Performs physical and psychosocial assessment according to scope of practice.
Collects physiologic monitoring data (patient weight, vital signs, lab results and diagnostic test results) upon admission and ongoing.
Requirements:
Must have unrestricted license in Kentucky as a practical nurse or must have a valid work permit issued by the Kentucky Board of Nursing. (Preferred Associate’s In Nursing)
Completion of an accredited registered nurse associate degree or bachelor’s degree nursing program within 3 years of hire.
Additional certification may be required based on area of specialty
Completion and maintenance of BLS and other designated unit specific certification and training requirements
