Job Shift: MorningThe Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides compassionate, person-centered nursing care and health support to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). This role ensures the health, safety, and well-being of individuals by delivering direct clinical care, administering medications, and supporting each person’s individualized care plan.
- Provide direct nursing care, including monitoring vital signs, assessing health status, and responding to medical concerns.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all nursing care, treatments, and medication administration in medical records.
- Assist in the development and implementation of person-centered care plans.
- Review health data tracking logs.
- Assists with interpretation of physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant orders and reviews summary report after office visits.
- Liason(if needed) between individual and physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant.
- Responsible to verify accuracy of pharmacy orders, transcribing prescription orders and documenting into the MAR.
- Provide first aid and emergency care when needed; coordinate care with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Support individuals with IDD in achieving the highest possible level of independence and quality of life.
- Educate individuals, families, and staff on health-related topics, including hygiene, nutrition, and preventive care.
- Advocate for the rights and dignity of each individual, ensuring all care is respectful and culturally sensitive.

- Moderate noise level typical of office or program setting.
- Typical physical requirements including moving personal belongings, light equipment, materials to and from meeting locations, etc.

Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Georgia
- Minimum of 2 years experience serving individuals with developmental disabilities.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire
