The Licensed Practice Nurse is responsible for age-appropriate patient care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Their scope of practice is determined by the Kentucky Nurse Practice Act and established Baptist Health Hardin and Nursing Service policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
Assists in gathering initial assessment data (excluding admission physical assessment).
Contributes to re-assessments.
Evaluates patients progress toward established goals, communicating with RN as needed. Includes patients, families and significant other in data collection.
Performs treatments and administers medications per policies and procedures and within scope of LPN practice.
Requirements:
Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program leading to licensure.
Current unrestricted licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Kentucky required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
Must obtain mandatory nonviolent crisis prevention training to be completed prior to end of orientation period and maintained annually.
