The following noninstructional vacancy is listed in Human Resources for the 2026-2027 school year.
MIDDLE SCHOOLS AND SCHOOL SERVICES
1 LPN
RANGE OF PAY: $39,980.08 � 41,791.12 (10 months/196 Days)
(Additional compensation from the Millage initiative will be awarded annually. For the 2026-2027 school year, the amount to be determined by NESPA bargaining and ratification and will be prorated from July 1, 2026. The amount for the 2025-2026 school year was $6,127.)
QUALIFICATIONS:
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* (1) Perform invasive and non-invasive medical procedures required and ordered by student's physicians to include but not limited to tube feeding, cleaning and maintaining a tracheostomy catheterization, monitoring blood glucose, and administering emergency injectable medication.
* (2) Maintain adequate records for documentation of nursing procedures performed on a routine basis.
(3) Administer medications to students as prescribed by the student's physician. The need for this medication to be administered by the nurse must be documented. The administering of said medications and documentation provided must be in compliance with the rules of the NCSB.
*(4) To collect health related information and to provide this information to the student's physician and/or parent as directed.
*(5) Provide basic first aid and attends to students' health needs as indicated in the School Health Services Manual.
(6) Ability to teach selected students selected procedures.
* (7) Maintain effective and productive operations of designated health room and/or treatment sites, including clinic supplies.
* (8) Practice universal infection control procedures.
* (9) Attend student scheduled meetings when nursing input is required.
*(10) Contact the Office of Intervention and Prevention, the Nassau County Health Department, and the student's physician as necessary.
(11) Perform other duties as assigned by the Office of Intervention and Prevention.
(12) Provide health education to students.
(13) Uphold the best interests of students, staff and community in support of the District's Mission Statement.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force as needed to move objects.
