Position Summary:
This position assists the Director of Golf with all activities related to golf operation management. Works with minimal supervision and oversight includes - day-to-day operations and providing relevant golf programming. In concert with the Director of Golf – assist in development of adult and junior programming, observe appropriate budgeting, and continue to enhance our coaching standards. This position will embody the Carolina Country Club Mission Statement and Absolutes.
Job Functions:
- Under the supervision of the Director of Golf, support golf shop administration and maintain a highly respected golf instruction program for the Carolina membership.
- Provide golf instruction and player development programming for the facility.
- Perform club fitting sessions. Be current and versed with golf equipment offerings from industry vendors.
- Conduct instruction in all relevant formats – including private, group, clinic, academy, camps, socials, and special events.
- Be well versed with technology support – including coaching aids, video evaluation, launch monitors, etc…
- Recommend and implement strategies that promote the Club’s golf instruction program to the membership and increase lesson bookings.
- Create player development programs to foster both a social, fun environment – as well as a competitive environment.
- Supervise tidiness of the golf facilities to ensure that safe, clean, organized and professional conditions exist at all times.
- Administer requests and communications regarding or pertaining to schedule of lessons and instructional golf.
- Draft and organize assorted data reports regarding operations and/or instructional programming.
- Preserve teaching aids and equipment inventory in excellent condition.
- Maintain regular, open communication with the Director of Golf and entire Professional Staff to ensure optimal teamwork.
- Possess a personality trait that provides a welcoming experience by members and visiting guests.
- Contribute to short and long range planning as it relates to golf facility enhancements.
- Participate in sectional, national and educational meetings/conferences to encourage development and enrich club reputation.
- When competing in professional events, with the approval of the Director of Golf, will act as a Club Ambassador. • Assist with club golf tournaments.
- Attend all meetings scheduled by the Director of Golf, as requested.
- Contribute and assist with “Golf Traditions” segments and relevant content.
- Maintain visible presence on the golf course, especially during peak play times.
- Assist members with golf and club rules – as it relates to interpretation and enforcement.
- Adhere to all federal, state and local laws regarding health, safety and employment.
- Complete required computer based training courses through CLI within the required time frame.
- Responsible for knowing CCC Employee Policies and working by the CCC Mission Statement.

- Minimum five years’ experience as a full time Golf Professional at a recognized private club, golf academy, or similar facility.
- Maintain LPGA membership in good standing.
- Demonstrate essential knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf instruction and teaching methodology.
- Possess the skills and personality to create a professional and welcoming atmosphere that meets or exceeds the exacting standards of our members.
- Self-motivated with desire to promote and increase member instructional usage.
- Appropriate supervisory practices and principles.
- Act as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all club staff.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Proficient in written and verbal business communications.
- Experienced computer skills – to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Canva, and similar platforms.
- Maintain a credible golf game.
- Job duties will require the employee to spend 90% of working hours outdoors and will require employee frequently stand, walk, run, bounce, balance, stoop, kneel and/or crouch for several hours per day.
- Reach with hands and arms.
- Must be able to push, pull or lift using golf equipment.
