Job Category: Instructional FacultyBullis School seeks a passionate and collaborative Third Grade Homeroom Teacher to join our Lower School community for the 2026-27 academic year. This role is ideal for an educator who delights in working with young learners and is committed to fostering curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning. The Third Grade Homeroom Teacher is responsible for creating a warm, engaging classroom environment and delivering a thoughtfully designed curriculum in language arts, mathematics, and social studies to a homeroom of up to 16 students. This is a full-time, 10-month position reporting to the Head of Lower School.

QualificationsEssential Functions
- Design and develop curriculum content in the areas of language arts, mathematics, and social studies
- Use technology to blend learning and engage students in active, experiential, and hands-on learning
- Develop lesson plans and supplementary materials compatible with the basic instructional philosophy
- Observe and document student learning by recording anecdotal notes, developmental checklists, and progress updates in a timely manner
- Committed to staying up to date on current pedagogical practices and field-related trends
- Communicate with parents, school counselors, and administrators on students’ progress, as needed and appropriate.
- Design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards and provide timely feedback to students
- Ability to use the student learning management system to provide timely feedback, grades, and assignments to students
- Collaborate with grade-level and interdisciplinary teams
- Extra duties include carpool, recess, and lunch duties
- Attend divisional and grade-level meetings

- Other tasks as assigned by the Head of Lower School

Education and Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, or a related field
- Minimum of three years of prior teaching experience
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree in Elementary Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certificate
- Demonstrated experience teaching in a technology-rich environment, with proficiency in Google Workspace for Education and tablet integration (iPad or Chromebook)
- Experience implementing a structured literacy curriculum encompassing phonics and morphology instruction and inquiry-based learning approaches
- Orton-Gillingham certification or training preferred
- Responsive Classroom training or certification preferred
Compensation and benefits are competitive, with an anticipated salary range of $65,000 to $95,000.
