The When We Count New Orleans Organizer Bootcamp is a one-day, in-person training program to cultivate dedicated and passionate organizers for the 2026 midterms in the South. The program is designed for graduating college seniors and aspiring young professionals from Louisiana seeking full-time employment between now and November 2026 as an organizer on a Democratic campaign.

This one-day, in-person bootcamp on July 12th from 10AM - 5 PM will equip you with the hard skills, knowledge, and campaign network you need for your first job as an organizer on a Democratic campaign or state party in 2026. All participants will receive a stipend of $100.

Who We Are Looking For

Passionate young Louisiana Democrats curious about working on a campaign or state party in 2026. No previous political experience is required – just a willingness to learn and a fierce commitment to electing Democrats.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a resident of Louisiana or have strong Louisiana ties.
  • Young Democrats between the ages of 18-29
  • Must be seeking full-time, or part-time, employment between now and November 2026
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to talk to people from all walks of life.
  • Campaign work requires you to be adaptable, self-motivated, and ready for a fast-paced environment.
  • Passionate about protecting and expanding voting rights in the South, particularly following the Louisiana vs. Callais SCOTUS ruling.

What You Will Learn:

  • Campaign structure and timelines – what does each department do on a campaign, and how does that help the campaign win?
  • Campaign strategy – what tactics do campaigns use to reach, register, persuade, and mobilize diverse groups of voters?
  • Messaging strategy – how can campaigns have high quality, persuasive conversations with voters?
  • Coalitions strategy – how should campaigns adapt their organizing strategy to reach diverse groups of voters?
  • Personal Story training – how can you leverage your personal story as a persuasion tool?
  • Networking – meet senior level political operatives, battleground campaign leadership, elected officials, and other aspiring political staffers from across the country.

Program Benefits

  • Graduates of the Organizing Bootcamp will receive resume reviews, interview prep, and direct introductions to hiring managers on 2026 campaigns nationwide.

  • Applications will be considered on a rolling basis, and early applications are encouraged. The application will be open until Wednesday, July 1, at 11:59 p.m. ET.
