Position Overview:

The Loss Prevention Associate is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment by patrolling premises, monitoring surveillance, and controlling site access. Additionally, this role serves as a primary responder for warehouse incidents, providing immediate assistance during equipment failures or workplace injuries until specialized medical or maintenance teams arrive.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and control entry and exit points for employees, visitors, and vendors in accordance with established procedures.
  • Verify credentials, enforce visitor management protocols, and maintain accurate access records.
  • Maintain vigilance over assigned posts, alarm systems, and access control platforms.
  • Identify, report, and help mitigate safety hazards or security concerns promptly.
  • Utilize security technologies and systems including alarm monitoring systems and access control.
  • Monitor fire alarm panels and respond in accordance with established emergency protocols.
  • Conduct regular patrols and maintain strong familiarity with building and campus layouts.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and objective incident reports.
  • Take immediate and appropriate action to address unsafe or high-risk situations.
  • Communicate effectively via radio using established communication protocols.
  • Provide professional, courteous assistance to employees, visitors, and vendors.
  • De-escalate disputes or disruptive behavior calmly and professionally.
  • Participate in required safety, compliance, and skills-based training, including SLED Basics and Fire Extinguisher Training.
  • Ensure weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual inspections are conducted and compliant on all safety equipment including but not limited to fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, sprinkler systems, AEDs, eye wash stations, spill kits, etc.
  • Ensure first aid kits are accessible and restock as needed

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
  • Completion of SLED Basics Training and Fire Extinguisher Training.
  • Prior security or law enforcement experience.
  • Strong people skills and the ability to communicate candidly and respectfully.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to use security software systems.

Education Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Language Skills: Ability to read and write in English. Ability to effectively articulate and present information and respond to questions from Management in a professional manner.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Ability to remain alert, composed, and responsive in a dynamic environment.

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while remaining alert.
  • Ability to walk for an extended period as well as bend and stoop.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Performing team lifts for loads or patients over 50 pounds in accordance with safe lifting practices
  • Kneel and remain on the ground for extended periods
  • Perform effective chest compressions (2 inches deep at 100–120/min)
  • Maintain physical endurance for multiple cycles (often 2–5+ minutes)
  • Use both arms and upper body strength repeatedly
  • Lift and position equipment or victims if needed
  • See, hear, and communicate clearly during an emergency
