POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY STATEMENT (defines the major functions/purpose of the position): Maintains safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Develop and maintain productive, effective, and professional relationships with peers, superiors, auditors, and others. Represent the company in a positive and supportive manner at all times.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment and access points.
Writes reports of daily activities and irregularities such as property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons or unusual occurrences. Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities.
Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
Respond to alarm company off hours calls.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
• High school diploma.
• 2 years’ experience as a security officer or law enforcement officer
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
• Knowledge of security procedures • Ability to work effectively under stressful conditions • Ability to establish and maintain courteous and effective working relationships with others • Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing for the purpose of obtaining and disseminating information • Exercise diplomacy when dealing with people in sensitive situations • Apply active listening techniques in order to obtain complete and accurate information • Function effectively as a member of a team • Apply the principles of supervision to direct the work activities of subordinates • Rapidly prioritize a variety of tasks and take appropriate action • Must have sufficient computer knowledge to perform clerical tasks and prepare daily reports • Ability to apply first responder techniques in performing emergency first aid and CPR • May be required to work irregular hours, holidays, weekends and overtime. • May be required to walk or stand for extended periods of time
