Anglo American Australia operates five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in manganese, as well as copper exploration projects under way in North West Queensland. Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world.
We are seeking an experienced Longwall Mechanical Production Fitter to join our underground production team at Moranbah North Mine.
This is a hands on role in maintaining and supporting critical longwall equipment to keep the operation running safely, reliably, and efficiently. You will work alongside production, electrical, and maintenance personnel to identify mechanical issues, complete planned maintenance, and respond to equipment breakdowns.
Reporting to the Longwall Mechanical Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Longwall equipment includes the shearer, AFC and powered roof supports, with mechanical work involving commissioning, installation, maintenance and equipment inspections.
