The Express Lube Technician is responsible for performing minor repairs and inspections on vehicles in a quick thorough manner as assigned and in accordance with factory and dealership specifications and time standards.

Responsibilities
- Performs oil changes on guest vehicles.
- Inspects oil, cabin, air filters and vehicle fluid level and replaces or replenishes as necessary.
- Check's tire pressures and adds air, as needed.
- Rotates tires and inspects brake linings/drums and brake pads/discs.
- Performs a thorough check of guest's vehicles, refers needed repairs and preventive maintenance to Service Consultant.
- Documents all work performed on repair order and inspection sheet.
- Operates and maintains in good condition all lubrication equipment.
- Assists the service department, as needed.
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Achieves the production objectives set by management.
- Maintains assigned workspace in an organized and clean manner.
- Maintains high ethical standards in all actions.
- Maintains a high level of grooming, hygiene, and uniform appearance
Qualifications
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Individual will be required to:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a valid TX driver's license, have, and maintain an acceptable safe driving record.
- Experience working as a lube technician in a dealership/shop OR currently attending a trade school or automotive program is required.
- Knowledge of automotive parts; basic mathematical principles (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and percentages) and application.
- Ability to pay attention to detail; follow-up with internal and external guests; read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; read and comprehends instructions and information in the English language; work well with the public; communicate in a professional manner on the phone, Internet and in person; and use standard office equipment.
Physical Demands
- Frequently bend, stretch, twist, or reach with their body, arms, and/or legs; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions including low and high temperatures, precipitation and wind, noisy environments, and small and/or enclosed spaces.
- Adjusting, moving, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
- Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.

Work Environment/ Physical Demands
Will primarily work in an automotive shop environment. Workspace is covered but may involve various weather conditions such as heat and cold as well as safety hazards due to the nature of work. May experience loud noise on a regular basis.
Medium/Heavy Work---Will lift over 50 pounds with assistance device required and/or frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to or over 35 pounds with assistance device available as needed.
This position will require the employee to be standing for prolonged periods of time.
This position requires the ability to push, pull, climb, stoop, kneel, reach, grasp, and walk on a regular basis.
This position involves repetitive motion.
This position requires the ability to talk and hear with assistance.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or the equivalent and one year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; and two year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications (Certification/Licenses/Registrations)
ASE Certification is preferred.
Job Overview
Summary/Objective
The Express Technician diagnoses and performs quality light mechanical services on customer and inventory vehicles with efficiency, accuracy, and in accordance with dealership and manufacturer/factory standards.
Essential Functions
- Performs vehicle inspections, troubleshooting and testing for light mechanical services to determine required or recommended repairs as required and in accordance with company policy
- Diagnoses malfunctions and performs the necessary repairs including, but not limited to, replacing parts and components as required
- Performs tire services including, but not limited to, rotate, replace, mount, and balance
- Performs preventative maintenance including, but not limited to, lubrication, fluid replacements, coolant services, oil change, filter service, and brake adjustments
- Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended
- Verifies vehicle serviceability and ensure quality repairs the first time by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems as required
- Ensures customer vehicles are kept clean during repair process
- Contains costs by using warranty
- Evaluates service and parts options for repairs as required
- Communicates with supervisor, team leader or Service Advisor and/or Dispatcher if additional work is needed
- Aids Service Advisor as needed to write work orders, conduct test rides, and interact with the customer to guarantee customer satisfaction
- Keeps supplies ready by keeping inventory of stock; placing orders; verifying receipt of parts and supplies
- Maintains a clean, efficient work area and assists in keeping the shop neat and organized
- Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order in accordance with operating procedures
- Understands the terminology of the automobile industry and keeps abreast of industry technology changes
- Follows all attendance and punctuality standards with adherences to timekeeping standards
- Follows the Company Code of Business Ethics and Conduct
- Understands and follow all work rules and procedures and follows lawful directions from Supervisors
