Job Description

The Transition Academy (18-22 yrs old) is looking for qualified candidates for a 1.0 FTE long-term substitute Special Education Teacher position This is a long-term substitute assignment that begins on 08/31/2026 with an end date of 11/13/2026.

The Transition Academy provides instruction and coordination of students aged 18-22 who qualify for IEP Services. Teacher designs academic and vocational programming to students within the community setting. Programs are designed to facilitate successful transition to life after public school.


Qualifications:
Washington State teaching certificate with Special Education endorsement.

Salary:
Long-term substitute assignments in excess of twenty (20) days will be paid at the contract teacher base rate. See LWEA salary schedule posted on website. This position does not meet requirements for state health benefits.
