Job Description

Archbishop Spalding High School is accepting applications for the position of Math Long-Term Substitute from late September 2026 through early November 2026.

The Long-Term Substitute Teacher will be responsible for the direct supervision and instruction of students during the regular teacher's absence. The individual will follow the curriculum provided by the principal or absent teacher, assign and review homework, maintain attendance records, and support student learning in the classroom.

Essential Functions:

  • Actively supervise students at all times
  • Respond to all parent communication in a timely manner
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration
  • Oversee the instruction of students following the plans provided by the regular teacher
  • Follow the daily routine of the teacher and fill in for duties outside the classroom, such as morning drop-off or pick-up, as needed
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers, assistants, staff, and administration
  • Interact effectively and respond to communication in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics or a related field
  • Current MSDE certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of child development and supervision.
  • Experience teaching or working with secondary school students
  • Proficiency in utilizing digital and online learning platforms
  • A desire to embrace and support the values of the Archbishop Spalding community, both inside and outside the classroom

Pay Range: $160.00/Day
