Job Description

Who we are

We’re a bold team with a bright future; and we’re looking for people who want to be part of it.

Evolution Mining is a premier global gold companyoperating six mines across Australia and Canada. We’re transforming mines and uplifting careers. We’ve extended the mine life of our Ernest Henry Operations to 2040 and doubled its ore reserves. We took our Cowal Gold Operations underground in just seven years. We’re transforming our Red Lake Operations, restoring it as a premier Canadian gold mine. That kind of ambition creates careers, not just jobs.

When we asked our people what they enjoy most about working at Evolution, two things came up across every site: career growth and the quality of the people. Here, you’ll work alongside people who care, who push one another to be better, with leaders who are there to support you.

What’s the opportunity?

Be part of an underground operation with a strong future and the backing of one of Australia's leading gold producers. With Mungari's mine life extended through to 2038, this is an opportunity to join a high-performing underground team where your skills are valued, your contribution matters, and there is genuine opportunity to build a long-term career.

Based at our Mungari Operations and reporting to the Underground Shift Supervisor, you'll:

  • Deliver safe, accurate and productive long hole drilling to specification using mechanised production drill rigs.
  • Read and interpret mine plans, drilling to line, gradient and profile to support efficient underground production.
  • Set up, operate and troubleshoot Epiroc long hole drill rigs to maintain performance and minimise downtime.
  • Complete thorough pre-start inspections and ensure equipment remains safe and operational throughout the shift.
  • Work closely with Shift Supervisors and crew members to maintain effective communication and achieve production targets.

Why Mungari Operations?

Mungari is a cornerstone asset in our portfolio, with a mine life to at least 2038. It’s operationally diverse, with opportunities to work on the surface or underground and a great team of people who care. Our recent expansion of the processing plant has more than doubled processing capacity from 2 million to 4.2 million tonnes per year. With open pit and processing all on one site, the operational diversity is ideal for uplifting careers.

What suits your lifestyle best? We offer drive-in, drive-out (DIDO) and fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) rosters at Mungari. You choose. Live local in the world-class mining community and enjoy our competitive live-local incentives and allowances. Or choose FIFO and enjoy the camaraderie and benefits that village life offers.

The future here is bright; you could be part of it.

What we offer you

We support, develop and reward you to ensure you have a bright future. Here’s how we back that up:

  • Quarterly performance bonuses
  • Employee share scheme – have a real stake in the company’s success
  • Attractive rosters
  • Competitive live-local incentives and allowances for employees who choose to live locally
  • Relocation support
  • Salary packaging (e.g. novated car leasing, remote area housing)
  • Life insurance and income protection
  • Referral bonuses
  • Attractive parental leave benefits (18 weeks)
  • Discounted health insurance

Does this sound like you?

  • You bring a minimum of 5 years' underground mining experience, with strong exposure to production environments and a solid understanding of underground mining practices.
  • You've spent at least 12 months operating Epiroc production long hole drill rigs, with proven capability delivering accurate drill patterns safely and efficiently.
  • You take pride in drilling to plan, maintaining high standards of accuracy and contributing to production outcomes that keep the operation moving.
  • Safety is more than a requirement for you. You consistently demonstrate a strong commitment to safe work practices, hazard identification and compliance with site procedures.
  • You're a reliable team player who communicates well, supports your crew and contributes to a positive, high-performing underground culture.
  • You can confidently work independently underground while remaining accountable for the quality of your work and the condition of your equipment.
  • You have strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to identify, troubleshoot and report equipment issues before they impact production.
  • You're adaptable, resilient and comfortable working in a dynamic underground environment where priorities can change throughout the shift.
  • You hold a current C Class Manual Driver's Licence.
  • You're willing and able to work a 7:7 roster comprising 12-hour day and night shifts.
