Job Description

Work with Planner to execute daily category planning activities including analysis and allocation. Develop allocations using the Enterprise Allocator (EA) and Enterprise Planning (JDA) toolsets maximizing corporate resources in logistics and operations while also maximizing margin and sell through at stores. Develop and follow best practices to ensure that the right products are in the right stores. Work with Buying and Planning teams to understand the desired plan for products.   • Collaborate with planner in sales management, inventory and margin plans
  • Assist planner in executing the overall vision for the category (e.g., assortment planning, receipt flow, product allocation, inventory and margin)
  • Identify trends, growth opportunities, and sales deficiencies through detailed recaps and in-depth analysis
  • Manage new and remodel stores’ inventory prior, during and after completion of stores’ project
  • Allocate assortment plans by utilizing store volume grades, planogram versions and capacity to guide the buying team on receipt units and dollars that correlate with the financial plan
  • Execute assortment plan and buyer’s vision by allocating product to multiple store formats (department, marketplace, expanded, food), and utilizing various allocation software such as James Donald Armstrong (JDA), Enterprise Allocator (EA), etc.)
  • Collaborate with the Retail Service Center (RSC) and other Kroger warehouses regarding any issues with allocations
  • Run and analyze past, present and future allocations to identify trends and opportunities
  • Requests data from external and internal partners to provide complete analysis of promotions
  • Develop and present allocations that have greatest potential to improve sales and margins
  • Monitor product sales, margins and store level sell through
  • Foster and develop a professional consultative relationship with key stake holders to ensure inputs are considered and objectives are met
  • Provide feedback on allocation process recommend opportunities to improve the effectiveness of system or future process
  • Maintain, produce and distribute reports and other documents as identified by stake holders in the assigned class
  • Establish deadlines to keep current and upcoming priorities and deliverables transparent for all stake holders within team
  • Maintain a flexible approach and schedule to effectively respond to needs of customer
  • Familiarity with Kroger data and escalation procedures when errors are detected
  • Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

Minimum

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or 2 years of retail store managerial experience or a combination of relevant education and experience
  • Accuracy/attention to detail
  • Understanding of financial metrics and ability to analyze allocations and sales
  • Organize/prioritize tasks/projects and problem solve
  • Familiarity with retail industry/technical terms and processes
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Highly motivated self-starter who can work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to effectively craft and deliver messages to senior level executives

Desired

  • Knowledge of JDA planning software or similar software
  • Knowledge of EA planning software or similar software
  • Familiarity with retail financial components
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Magic
