Job Description

Perform as a task leader while applying logistical operations skills, as well as grounds maintenance skills, to a prestigious multi-faceted grounds maintenance program. The emphasis of this position would be in the Logistics Division.

This position is a full-time, on-site role in Augusta, GA.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform as a task leader when assigned direct oversight of outside services labor.
  • Responsible for the completion of assigned tasks within a small group.
  • Responsible for equipment operation to facilitate movement and/or storage of materials.
  • Provide updates to management on the progress of assigned daily tasks.
  • Responsible for assisting with inventory monitoring and restocking.
  • Support the Operations, Plant Health Care and Landscape Development divisions within the Nursery Department by assisting them when directed by management.
  • Operate outdoor equipment properly and in accordance with Club safety procedures. Notifies supervisor or grounds mechanics of equipment malfunctions or necessary equipment maintenance.
  • Monitor plant and soil conditions; reports conditions that require treatment to the Horticulture Operations Manager.
  • Provide labor and supports a complete ground maintenance program by performing basic departmental responsibilities including, but not limited to debris clean up, weeding, mowing, aerating, watering, fertilizing, grading, sodding, trimming, and pruning within Club grounds as well as the outside perimeter.
  • Perform work tasks in compliance with Club procedures as well as local and state regulations.
  • Perform other duties which are deemed by management to be an important part of the job.
  • Physical demands are outlined immediately below.

Physical Demands

  • Constantly required to use arms, hands, and fingers to handle or lift items up to 50 pounds and/or drive a golf cart.
  • Constantly required to stand and walk, climb, or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or reach with hands and arms.
  • Use vision to perform an activity such as but not limited to preparing and analyzing data and figures, visual inspection involving property maintenance, hazards, and safety violations, and/or operation of machines or golf carts (including inspection).

Qualifications:

Skills/Knowledge/Attributes:

  • Ability to operate all landscaping equipment required.
  • Ability to pass the ANGC training module for forklifts and loaders.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic math skills.

Relative Experience/Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalency required, completion of certificate program in Horticulture, Agronomy, or related field preferred.
  • 0 - 2 years of experience in ground maintenance, landscaping or relevant experience preferred.

Required License(s):

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and/or successfully complete the Club’s internal motor vehicle training program.
  • Possess or obtain a current and valid Georgia Certified Commercial Pesticide Applicator’s license preferred.

Projected Work Schedule:

Must be available for a varying work schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
