Summary

To be responsible for import and export processes from and to Mexico, allowing operations to perform services and activities on Baker Hughes facilities, customers´ site/ property on time. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance with customs and trade regulations, and building strong partnerships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, ports, airports, and other supply chain stakeholders.

As a Logistics Senior Team Leader, you will play a key role in leading and optimizing international trade and logistics operations, ensuring the seamless import and export of machinery, products, and services across air, ocean and road transportation modes. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance with customs and trade regulations, and building strong partnerships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, ports, airports, and other supply chain stakeholders.

This role requires expertise in customs processes, special trade regimes, temporary importations, and logistics controls, while providing strategic guidance on import/export planning, customs clearance, and operational efficiency initiatives.

As a Senior Logistics Team Leader, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the design and execution of end-to-end logistics solutions to ensure on-time pickup and delivery performance.
  • Managing import and export operations in compliance with Mexican customs regulations and agreed lead times.
  • Ensuring all trade activities are conducted in full compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable government regulations.
  • Coordinating requests for import/export permits, non-tariff regulatory requirements, temporary import authorizations, and return controls.
  • Providing expertise on Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) classifications and applicable regulations, including IATA and other international standards.
  • Define processes to review and validate trade documentation, including customs declarations, certificates, Air Waybills (AWB), Bills of Lading (BL), commercial invoices, and other regulatory documents.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of logistics and trade data across systems and documentation.
  • Advising functional leaders and stakeholders on customs, trade compliance, and logistics-related projects, processes, costs and best practices.
  • Managing logistics costs and identifying opportunities to achieve financial and operational targets.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to reduce import and export lead times and enhance operational performance.
  • Building strong relationships and communicating effectively with internal customers, logistics providers, and team members to resolve complex operational challenges.
  • Leading, coaching, and developing team members, including training on new digital tools, systems, and data analytics capabilities.
  • Promoting a culture of safety, compliance, collaboration, and customer-focused execution.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have previous experience in import and export operations, preferably in industry.
  • Show knowledge of English and Spanish, spoken and written, is a must.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with trade compliance and Mexico Customs regulations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in oil and gas will be a plus.
