Job Description

Logistics Supervisor | Rochdale

Lead our night-shift operations to ensure our world-class food products move safely, accurately, and efficiently from our warehouse to the world.

What you will be doing

You will be the driving force behind our nocturnal logistics, supervising a dedicated team to manage everything from intake to dispatch while maintaining a safety-first culture. Your goal is to ensure 100% load accuracy and system integrity before the sun comes up.

  • Safety & Team Leadership: Champion a "zero-harm" environment, managing staff attendance, conducting return-to-work interviews, and coaching your team to hit high performance standards.
  • Operational Control: Oversee the picking and dispatch schedules, ensuring all stock follows FIFO principles and that trailer turnarounds are handled with precision.
  • Inventory & Systems: Maintain real-time SAP accuracy, liaising with Production and Planning to resolve discrepancies and manage stock age or quality risks.
  • Compliance: Own the documentation process for audits and traceability, ensuring every pallet and paper trail meets our rigorous food safety standards.

What you will bring

We are looking for a decisive leader who thrives in a fast-paced warehouse environment and understands the critical importance of temperature-controlled logistics.

  • Experience: You possess a proven track record in warehouse or transport supervision, ideally within a high-pressure manufacturing or FMCG environment where timing is everything.
  • Hard Skills: You are highly proficient in SAP or similar WMS/ERP systems and Microsoft Office; holding a valid forklift license (counterbalance or reach) is a significant advantage.
  • Soft Skills: You are a proactive problem-solver with a "safety-first" mindset, capable of motivating a diverse team and remaining calm and clear-headed under operational pressure.

Why join us

You won’t just be managing a shift; you’ll be refining processes and leading a team in an environment that values continuous improvement and operational excellence. We are committed to your professional journey, offering a workplace where hard work is recognised, and career growth is an active conversation. About Danish Crown

The Danish Crown Group is a global food processing company and among the largest in its field. The Group is the world’s largest pork exporter and Europe’s largest pork processor. Furthermore, Danish Crown Beef is a significant player in the European beef market.

Just like the crops in the fields continuously change, Danish Crown tirelessly refine and improve how we work, from farm to fork, to ensure good, safe food for people around the world to enjoy. Our history goes back to 1887 and the Danish cooperative movement, and responsibility towards society, our employees and our owners, the farmers, is quite simply in our genes.

As a global leader in meat production, we have big obligations; not just to deliver, but to explore new opportunities. We still have a long way to go and face many challenges. But we remain committed to improving how food is produced - with respect for animals, people and the environment. In this quest, we are prepared to challenge ourselves, the industry and the market.

This journey is not ours alone, but we promise to be the leaders of change.

You will become a part of a strong culture with roots in the Danish co-operative movement, and at all levels of the organization, you will be met by an informal and direct tone.
