The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the logistics operations at the NY Creates TGCM Site. This includes overseeing delivery schedules, driver compliance, transportation fleet management, waste program, and maintaining professional relationships with freight forwarders and carriers. The Logistics Supervisor leads the logistics team, conducts daily safety (tool-box) meetings, and provides guidance and training to ensure efficient and cost-effective shipment processes. They continuously seek efficiencies and cost reduction in freight charges, track on-time deliveries, implement corrective actions, and maintain tracking systems. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills to ensure smooth logistics operations and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate delivery schedules and routes for NY Creates TGCM site deliveries.
  • Oversee direct reports hours in myHR and coordinate time off and coverage.
  • Ensure direct reports driving hours and e-logs comply with DOT regulations
  • Provide constructive feedback and issue disciplinary action, when needed.
  • Provide input for annual performance review for direct reports
  • Lead daily safety and quality meetings (Tool-Box meetings) with the logistics team.
  • Coordinate the use of third-party drivers due to absences, personnel constraints, or unforeseen circumstances.
  • Manage the transportation fleet, including PIT equipment, ensuring compliance and routine maintenance.
  • Provide guidance and training to the logistics department.
  • Manage the on-call rotation schedule to ensure adequate coverage for customer support. (On-call, weekend, Holidays)
  • Maintain professional relationships with freight forwarders and carriers.
  • Continuously seek efficiencies in the shipment process.
  • Continuously seek cost reduction opportunities for freight charges.
  • Ensure proper handling and shipment of returned products to supplier locations.
  • Manage the BOL system, including user assignments and product information updates.
  • Oversee the NY Creates Chemical waste program.
  • Assist in the hiring and development of new Logistics personnel.
  • Develop and maintain on-the-job training programs for incoming employees.
  • Reinforce safety guidelines and investigate reported unsafe conditions
  • Routinely meet with staff to identify and resolve issues.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and priorities for the warehouse.
  • Mentor, guide, and coach team members to operational expectations
  • Train assigned employees on the use of operating powered industrial equipment (Forklift, pallet jack, etc.)
  • Develop job aids to support understanding and training of logistics activities.
  • Support warehouse operations during extended hours, including holidays and weekends (on-call schedule).
  • Demonstrate knowledge of all warehouse operations (receiving, staging, picking, FEFO, AVA WMS,QC, etc.)
  • Capable of operating powered industrial equipment (Forklifts, pallet Jackets, etc.)
  • Interact directly with internal and external customers.
  • Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities as directed by the manager.

Are you a MATCH?

Required Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent OR 5+ years of experience
  • 7+ years relevant experience, including 5+ years of experience shipping Hazmat in the following: IATA, IMDG and DOT
  • Proficiency in the English language
  • Basic knowledge of the properties/characteristics of products being handled
  • Be able to accurately perform basic arithmetic calculations
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • Work safely at all times and ensure a safety culture and safe working environment.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and be a team player
  • Ability to maintain punctual and reliable attendance, with flexibility around scheduling PTO and working overtime when needed
  • Experience Microsoft word, Excel, Oracle
  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the semiconductor industry
  • Experience in the industrial gas industry
