Position Overview: The Logistics Specialist / Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) provides integrated logistical, equipment accountability, and facility security support for program operations. This role ensures effective management of facility resources, compliance with security requirements, and continuity of operations in support of mission objectives.
The individual maintains situational awareness of evolving technologies, directives, and processes, and collaborates with government personnel to improve workflows, enhance efficiencies, and mitigate risks to mission success.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct logistical support to the program and facility as directed by the Government Lead
- Order, track, and maintain supplies including office equipment, IT assets, and furniture
- Maintain comprehensive equipment management listings for government-furnished equipment (GFE), contractor/vendor-provided equipment, and all associated software licenses
- Ensure accountability of all program equipment, including developing and maintaining tracking mechanisms for assets issued to personnel for off-site use
- Coordinate with facility/building management to maintain awareness of facility conditions, maintenance requirements, and operational impacts
- Identify and report shortfalls or issues related to logistics, facility operations, equipment, or security to government leadership
- Assist in planning, preparation, and movement of equipment in support of Continuity of Operations (COOP) and forward-deployed locations
- Support the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in administering facility security processes and procedures
- Assist with processing personnel access requests, verifying security clearances, and issuing badges for assigned personnel and visitors
- Support updates and improvements to directives, SOPs, and processes in coordination with government staff, including participation in pilot programs and process refinement efforts
- Maintain records, logs, and documentation to ensure compliance with security and accountability requirements
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in a related discipline with 7 years of specialized experience, OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- 7 years of experienceusing Microsoft Office Suite, including:
- MS Word
- MS Excel
- MS PowerPoint
- MS Access
- MS SharePoint
- 3 years of experience (concurrent acceptable) as a Facility Security Officer (FSO) or in a facility security support role
- 3 years of experience (concurrent acceptable) providing accountability and tracking of specialized IT/network hardware and software assets
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance (required)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting DoD or USSOCOM environments, including secure facility operations
- Familiarity with COOP planning and execution in classified or mission-critical environments
- Experience maintaining property accountability systems and audit readiness for government equipment
- Working knowledge of DoD security processes, clearance verification systems, and visitor control procedures
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic operational environment
