Overview

The Logistics Specialist owns systematic inventory management for the Odessa logistics operation, ensuring inventory records are accurate, timely, and aligned with physical inventory across all designated storage and staging locations. The role works closely with the on-site Logistics Coordinator, material handlers, warehouse personnel, and Logistics Operations Management to track material movements, resolve discrepancies, maintain data integrity, and improve inventory visibility — freeing Logistics Coordinators to focus on the physical execution of shipments, unloading, material handling, staging, and transportation activities.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management & Control

  • Maintain accurate and timely inventory records within the designated inventory management system, ensuring system quantities, locations, and material status align with physical inventory.
  • Process and track inventory movements including receiving, transfers, relocations, staging, consumption, and movement between warehouses, yards, laydown areas, and other designated locations.
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies including missing, misplaced, or incorrectly recorded materials, while maintaining accurate documentation for inventory transactions, transfers, and adjustments.

Systematic Data & Reporting

  • Maintain systematic inventory data integrity by promptly updating inventory records following physical movements and monitoring transactions, locations, and material status for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Improve inventory visibility and control by maintaining inventory reports, identifying recurring discrepancies and process gaps, and recommending improvements to inventory accuracy, efficiency, and overall control.

Logistics & Operational Support

  • Coordinate with Logistics Coordinators and material-handling personnel to ensure physical inventory movements are properly communicated, verified, and recorded, while supporting receiving, staging, and inventory activities during high-volume periods.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment by following established safety procedures when working around forklifts, heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, loading/unloading areas, and active yard operations.

Experience & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in both office and industrial/warehouse environments.
  • Ability to lift equipment up to 50 pounds.

Preferred

  • Experience with cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with inventory, warehouse, ERP, TMS, or other logistics management systems.
  • Experience working with forklifts or other material-handling equipment is a plus.

Compensation

  • Full-Time, Exempt
  • $60,000-$70,000/year, DOE

Benefits

  • Health Coverage – Medical, Dental & Vision
  • FSA Health and Dependent Care available
  • 401(k) Plan
  • Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Observed Holidays Paid
  • Cell Phone Allowance
  • Collaborative, growth-driven culture
