About the Role

The Logistics Specialist III will support PMA-207 C-130 Integrated Product Team (IPT) and the C-130 Lead Assistant Program Manager Logistics (APML) with logistics management support of multiple sustainment-related efforts including Diminishing Mfg Sources of Material and Supply (DMSMS), Interim spares provision (requirements determination and APN-6 resource management), sparing risks identified via Reliability Control Board actions to resolve material condition deficiencies, and assessment and recommendations for achieving Material Support Date for various ongoing and developing procurement initiatives. The Logistics Specialist III will be responsible for accomplishment of IPT lead and APML tasking and accountable to both the IPT Lead and the C-130 APML.

  • Participate in the design and development of new systems by assessing the supportability and maintainability of proposed systems and technology applications. Recommend feasible design and alternatives to acquisition engineers and managers for systems maintainability challenges that may be unsupportable.

  • Develop support and maintenance concepts and develops the maintainability requirements for assigned systems. These concepts and requirements are the foundation for overall logistics planning and management.

  • Reviews requirements for new support facilities and plans the activation of system support sites.

  • Reviews Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) assesses the impact of the changes to ILS and recommends approval/disapproval based on the results of trade-off analyses between improved performance, supportability, and additional costs.

  • Tracks all ECPs from the date of approval to final installation of the change on each end item.

  • Participate in PMA leadership, IPT, and functional competency meetings in the planning, establishment, and execution of logistics support capabilities for C/KC-130 systems.

  • Identify and support Item Unique Identification (IUID) programs associated with C/KC-130 systems.

  • Evaluate, update, and maintain logistics planning documentation to ensure capability and integration of product support elements throughout the C/KC-130 systems lifecycle.

  • Manage the actions required for procurement of resources needed for C/KC-130 systems support during the lifecycle.

  • Manage the development of ECPs/TDs in support of modifications associated with C/KC-130 systems.

  • Prepare required briefing documentation regarding planning, programming, and execution of C/KC-130 systems integrated logistics requirements.

  • Develop affordable readiness initiatives, where appropriate, to reduce C/KC-130 systems life cycle costs.

    Identify and manage challenges/issues associated with C/KC-130 systems Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS).

  • The ability to utilize logistics tools and gain access to these tools that determine stock levels and be knowledgeable of shipping and transportation process to track, receive, and monitor movement of assets.

  • Knowledge of the Central Kitting Authority and the kitting process, and Supply support utilizing procurement and provisioning to establish Interim Supply Support through MSD and fielding.

  • Knowledge of Field Support Team (FST) and how they support LSA reporting and development of logistic products supporting the fleet.

  • The Contractor shall provide acquisition support services that are integral to the production/modification program, to include financial analyses of projected and actual spares procurement costs from initial outfitting, through pre-MSD transition.

  • The Contractor shall provide support to develop and maintain a spares procurement schedule and quantity that will support the assigned Weapon Systems approved Weapons System Planning Document and its concept of operations.

  • Coordinate progression toward achievement of Propulsion & Power MSD for engines and propellers to facilitate planning, management and achievement of MSD.

  • The Contractor shall provide technical support and analysis for various weapons systems, including Propulsion & Power for engines and propellers Material Support Date planning documentation and execution, including Baseline Assessment Model (BAM) process for spares determination, Life Cycle Sustainment spares procurement planning documentation and supply-related Logistics Requirements and Funding Summary, spend plan documentation and recommendations for Government review and approval.

  • Coordinate sustainment related efforts across functional areas within the C-130 team, including support to readiness cell on RCB related initiatives.

  • Provide support for DMSMS related issues, including engagement with USN/USAF IPTs and OEMs to capture and manage resolution paths.

  • Provide support for determination and resolution of Support Equipment deficits via procurement initiatives to identify requirements, manage/execute resources, and manage procurement initiatives.

  • The Contractor shall review recommended changes on all sustainment planning documentation, procurement and readiness improvement initiatives from fleet and other activities, Class I Engineering Change Proposals, Site Activation Schedules, Weapon Systems Planning Documents, Navy Training Plans (NTPs), Naval Training Support Plans (NTSPs), Production Training, sparing and Support Equipment schedule, and assist the Government in the identification of the most effective plan to ensure the accomplishment of timely Material Support Date, including spares provisioning for support of Support.

Qualifications

  • 12 years or more of experience - May require a master’s degree; at least 12 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and independently performs a wide variety of complicated tasks.
  • May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top level contributor/specialist. May lead and direct the work of others.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
  • Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Salary range: $95,000 - $105,000 ( The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.)
