What You’ll do

We are seeking a Logistics Specialist to join our Safe & Smart Workplace team in Boise, ID. This position is responsible for managing and controlling all warehouse activities including shipping and receiving, inventory processing and control, organization and auditing of items within the warehouse. In addition, the Logistics Specialist will develop and adhere to processes to improve warehouse operations, expand opportunities with shipping partners, and ensure the work environment is optimized for space allocation and safety. This role will interface directly with external shipping partners and suppliers, internal engineering, project management, and account management on a daily basis to identify and fulfill logistical requirements for projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Shipping & Receiving

  • Support shipping and receiving needs
  • Receive daily shipments from multiple carriers into the warehouse
  • Identify and match incoming equipment to the appropriate project it corresponds with
  • Document receipt of shipments in tracking sheets and enterprise tools
  • Accurately assign and manage location for received equipment, labeling, and moving incoming shipments to a warehouse bin
  • Safely move items to designated warehouse space using pallet jacks, dollies, and forklifts
  • Pack and box items for outgoing shipments, create shipping labels and bills of lading, wrap pallets
  • Schedule outgoing shipments and maintain accurate records of shipments sent
  • Create quotes for custom outgoing shipments per internal customer requirements and work with internal groups to process freight charges
  • Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders to build and maintain strong working relationships
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with shipping and logistics vendors to expand opportunities

Controlling & Auditing

  • Complete audits of warehouse inventory on established cadence
  • Maintain a check-out process for all equipment leaving the warehouse for staging or installation
  • Maintain exact counts and location of all items in the warehouse in CompuNet systems, including inventory and office supplies. Notify account manager when inventory levels reach established thresholds for re-ordering
  • Follow established procedures for issuance and control of inventory not associated with a project
  • Confirm all necessary parts are received, organized and ready for each project deployment
  • Assist with staging and loading of equipment and tools to CompuNet vehicles as equipment leaves the warehouse
  • Manage and report on warehouse capacity as requested

Process Implementation

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Program Management, and Safe & Smart Workplace leadership to develop and document warehouse management processes
  • Participate in discussions to identify opportunities for improvement and provide guidance on best practices
  • Provide guidance and education on use of warehouse systems and processes internally, as needed
  • Research and identify opportunities with internal and external partners for new logistics products and services
  • Partner with IT and Program Management to identify, request, and test changes to enterprise systems affecting logistics management

Facilities Maintenance & Safety

  • Maintain clean workspace and working area for forklift operations within the warehouse
  • Adhere to OSHA guidelines for forklift operations to safely move equipment and items within the warehouse
  • Remove used pallets, boxes, and packing materials from warehouse and transport to dumpster
  • Liaise with internal and external vendors to schedule and complete building and fleet maintenance for the Boise warehouse location and vehicles

Required skills and experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or inventory management
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, and inventory control
  • Experience working with inventory systems, ERP tools, or tracking spreadsheets
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, Outlook) or similar tools
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a proactive attitude
  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and organization
  • Excellent organization, time management and independent work skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and process improvement mindset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the organization
  • Ability to supply creative solutions to logistics challenges and issues
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt processes and business practices

Physical Requirements

  • OSHA 10 certified or able to become certified within 1 month of hire
  • Must be able to lift and move 50 lbs. occasionally without assistance
  • Must be able to use warehouse equipment including a pallet jack, dolly, and basic tools for loading/unloading equipment
  • Able to operate a forklift and be forklift certified or become certified within 1 month of hire
  • Travel required up to 5%
  • Position is 100% in-person

Preferred experience but not required:

  • Experience coordinating shipments and working with freight carriers
  • Experience supporting project-based environments or equipment deployments
