Job Description

Logistics Project Manager is responsible for managing logistics related activities (inbound, outbound, V2V, repairs, warranty, etc.) and projects for SEC 2 Bulk Program in a manner that shall meet the business fulfilment requirements. Responsible for leading KSA logistics activities from POI to site based on DDP incoterms. LPM is accountable for logistics scope from factories to DDP delivery location, LPM will also assist in operational and financial KPIs, such as deflation, EAC, $/kg, demerges, premium charges, etc. LPM will also be responsible for interfacing all logistics matters with customer/EPC, claims, and insurance claims.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primary interface with the customer and business teams for developing and managing logistics plans for various projects within the SEC 2 Bulk Program, actively engaged on all related internal and external meetings
  • Principal lead for managing the OTR activities, suggest consolidation plans, prepare and execute shipping transactions
  • Technical, logistics and operational interface between the customer, Internal Project Managers and Project Managers in Saudi, and global logistic coordinators
  • In coordination with SEC 2 Logistics team in France and KSA supply chain leader, supervise and control all project and fulfilment related milestones such as scopes, timelines, expenses and risks impacting projects or outages
  • Must identify, log, and track risks & opportunities and report regularly to the Project Managers
  • In coordination with customs specialists, verify and ensure all import documentation issued by the suppliers / factories is accurate, completed and according to the importing regulatory standards
  • Cooperate with the customs team and with other internal/external stakeholders to ensure on time custom clearance and delivery to site with emphasis on avoiding additional costs such as penalties, storage and demurrages.
  • Follow and adhere existing logistics best practices of GEV in Saudi Arabia
  • Single point of contact for internal and external customers where any logistics solutions are required
  • Support all documentations and organize the local executions within Saudi Arabia’s 14 projects
  • Issue and update Master Packing List to the customer
  • Coordinate with Sourcing and Supply Chain to ensure all delivery and shipment release requirements are met
  • Ensure corrective actions and containment plans are in place to avoid incident repeatability
  • Complete administrative tasks (shipping, cost, tracking number registration etc.) as required, maintain the necessary reporting and analytics such as EAC (estimated at completion), actual and premium costs
  • Be actively involved in logistics related project initiatives; act as subject matter of expert to drive operational excellence
  • Be the contact for freight forwarders representatives
  • With KSA supply chain leader support, ensure all logistics transactions are executed in accordance with GEV & Country Compliance regulations
  • Collaborate with fulfilment, sourcing, customs team & other key stakeholders to implement ways to reduce overall logistics & customs cycle time
  • Actively pursue cost avoidance methodology during logistics execution phase
  • Follow proper escalation channels within and outside GEV for all conflict resolutions
  • Compliance to GEV EHS life saving rule and STOP WORK culture

Required Qualifications

  • College or university degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 6 years work experience in logistics, with specific focus on energy projects in Saudi Arabia
  • Experience interfacing with customs teams and brokers
  • Experience on SEC / EPC energy projects
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and forwarders across the globe
  • Fluent in Arabic and English (verbal and written)
  • Applicants must have the legal right to work in KSA without company sponsorship or time restrictions.

  • Integrated Management Systems knowledge (pref. SAP, ORACLE)
  • Mentoring or training abilities
  • LEAN Principles experience is preferred
  • Self-disciplined and defining functional goals in accordance with our contract objectives
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
