This is a role within the Castrol organisation and the successful candidate will become part of the Castrol ring-fence. If you are part of the ring-fence, it is expected that your employment will move with Castrol to new ownership.

Let me tell you about the role

The Logistics Lead ASPAC helps deliver logistics category in to a region / asset and is based in that region / asset. They help ensure category activities across are aligned to categories and procurements strategic objectives as well as regions / assets strategic business priorities.

They coordinate with other procurement teams to deliver priorities, e.g. working with categories to comprehend and deliver category plans or working with S2C on sourcing for their region / asset. They balance business needs with category plans ensuring they are in alignment.

They are the primary point of contact for suppliers to logistics category in their region and partner, collaborate, develop and support management of relationships with them, ensuring local needs are met. They also work with their peers across procurement to understand and share established practice, making their category more efficient and effective.

They have an understanding of and partner with the business to gather demand and challenge the business, where necessary, in order to deliver step changes in 3rd party spend by applying innovative solutions and change management. They have commercial insight to help in delivering secure optimal, compliant, and competitive, risk-managed category outcomes.

ASPAC PU covers Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and South Korea.

What you will deliver

Category delivery in region / asset:

  • Helps deliver Logistics category performance to the region / asset that meet or exceeds relevant metrics, including those for safety and compliance.
  • Delivers regional needs whilst also aligning to category plans – Assists in consolidating demand plans for the business, working with their wider category team to assure category plans are aligned. Understands the local commercial landscape and market factors, aiding in the development of value-driven strategies.
  • Assists with supplier performance management or interventions, escalating to the relevant business partners, as needed, to ensure timely resolution and prevent leakage.
  • Drives engagement and develops strategic partnerships with our contractors and suppliers
  • Unlocks value in line with category management policy

Team integration:

  • Develop a unified "one team" culture by aligning procurement, internal business units, and external suppliers
  • Builds region / asset knowledge across their category team to ensure delivery of their objectives
  • Develops their technical capabilities and accelerator skills
  • Cultivating a culture of psychological safety and bp values to drive collaboration and innovation, all while adhering to Castrol's Code of Conduct (CoC), policies and procedures.

Supplier & Stakeholder Management:

  • Communicates impact fully using storytelling to align cross-functional partners, navigate conflict, and drive core priorities.
  • Influences outcomes in complex, multi-cultural environments and virtual, cross-disciplinary settings.
  • Serves as a trusted advisor, balancing market insights and supplier value with specific business needs.
  • Champions procurement's global reputation and Return of Investment by actively integrating partner feedback.
  • Maintains close connectivity with S2C ensuring appropriate prioritization and resourcing

Transformation and Change Management:

  • Optimize digital solutions to drive innovation, enhancing efficiency, effectiveness and value creation
  • Partners with internal teams to drive category excellence
  • Use influencing, storytelling and communication to encourage adoption
  • Helps deliver modernization & transformation activities, and optimization of regional category delivery aligned to the broader procurement and business transformation agendas

Essential Experience and Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree/ Post graduate qualification in Procurement (or equivalent relevant professional experience)

Functional knowledge Must be adept at developing and maintaining business context including comprehension of strategic direction, priorities and partners.

  • Some knowledge of Category Management Principles and Logistics Category (even if it is theoretical rather than practical)
  • A theoretical or practical understanding of how strategies flow through to execution in regions / assets
  • Ability to develop quick understanding of business objectives and align it with category strategies

Business expertise Stakeholder management and influencing skills to develop a deep understanding of the supported businesses / regions / assets and their priorities, including long term objectives.

  • Critical thinking and commercial acumen
  • Comprehension of working in and navigating complex multi-national businesses
  • Track record in delivering continuous improvement

Leadership An SME, who assists with delivery of business and procurement priorities. Collaborates across their category businesses, suppliers and beyond to achieve their regions / assets goals.

  • Experience in supporting initiatives internationally, recognizing cultural nuances, analyzing data-driven trends & insights, and employing agile/flexible approaches
  • An advocate for our code, they incorporate the Operating Management System (OMS) and our safety leadership principles into strategies and everyday work

Problem solving The ability to assist in collaborating with business to develop innovative solutions, clearing blockers and enabling delivery.

  • Adopts industry challenges and technological disruption, pioneers innovative solutions whilst managing risk
  • Brings multiple parties (procurement, business, suppliers) together to cumulatively solve complex problems
  • Manages conflict to successful resolution while maintaining relationships with key partners
  • The ability to assist in evaluating innovative solutions and handle risk
  • Helps translate business requirements into a strategic delivery plan, aligned with the category strategy, to inform strategic decisions

Interpersonal skills The role demands good people skills to engage with diverse partners.

  • Good partner networking and influencing skills to ensure buy in and adoption, building a reputation as a partner to the regions / sites / assets
  • Experience in regular interaction with external suppliers preferred
  • Effective change management is key, requiring influencing, engagement and storytelling abilities
  • Persevering through organizational complexity and resistance to change, key to leading transformational change
