Project Overview

Catholic Relief Services (CRS), in partnership with Caritas Cuba, is implementing a multi-sector emergency response to support vulnerable households across Cuba. The project focuses on delivering essential assistance in food security, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), and basic shelter and non-food items (NFIs). The program prioritizes households with the greatest needs and is delivered through local Caritas structures to ensure effective, community-based implementation. Activities include food distributions, hygiene support, and targeted shelter improvements in select areas.

The project emphasizes efficient delivery, accountability to participants, and practical monitoring approaches adapted to the local context. Through this effort, CRS and Caritas aim to help households meet immediate needs while strengthening the capacity to deliver timely and well-coordinated assistance.

You will support the implementation of all shipping activities for humanitarian response programming in Cuba to ensure all programs and operations have the goods and services needed when they need them in support of high-quality programs serving the poor and vulnerable.Your knowledge and experience will allow you to coordinate commodity and logistics needs and challenges and the implementation of solutions, as you apply the principles of stewardship, integrity, transparency, and accountability.

Roles and Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the supply chain team and relevant programming staff on logistics services that meet the pipeline requirements. Help identify challenges in supply chain management and provide recommendations to address those challenges.
  • Support the implementation of shipping, customs clearance, and confirmation of receipt by partners in Cuba in accordance with CRS and donor regulations and international and local supply chain standards and requirements
  • Collaborate and communicate with the procurement team to ensure they receive timely purchase requisitions with comprehensive specifications, delivery schedules, and other terms and conditions, including labeling, branding, and marking.
  • Provide regular coaching and support to CRS and partner staff and laborers to ensure they have the capacity to implement accurately, consistently, and transparently commodity logistics processes and to abide by security, safety, and health requirements.
  • Help coordinate and supervise activities related to commodity receipt and submission of payment requests to vendors upon delivery.
  • Maintain updated files with all required shipping documents and ensure all shipment management activities and movements are fully and accurately documented. Ensure all inventory movements are accurately recorded in the Insight system, including receipts, transfers, dispatches, and adjustments, in compliance with system guidelines and organizational standards. Prepare and/or review all reports prior to submission according to distribution requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or other relevant degree.
  • With 2 years work experience in supply chain, logistics, procurement management. Fresh graduates may be considered for the role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification(s) in supply chain or equivalent field strongly preferred.
  • Preferably with work experience in an international organization.
  • Experience with commodity tracking systems is a plus.
  • Experience in Latin America and the Caribbean is highly desirable.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of political dynamics along the chain, infrastructure, market knowledge, as well as related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient in MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Good planning, coordination, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Good analytical skills with ability to make independent judgment and decisions
  • Ethical conduct in accordance with recognized professional and organizational codes of ethics
  • Proactive, resourceful, solutions-oriented and results-oriented
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team environment

Required Languages Fluency in Spanish and English required.

Travel Must be willing and able to travel up to 30%.
