Grow your career with a company built on Safety, Integrity, Teamwork, and Stewardship As a Logistics Manager – Ready Mix at Dolese, you will be responsible for leading and optimizing Ready Mix dispatch and delivery coordination within an assigned division or market. This role ensures the safe, timely, and efficient delivery of ready-mix concrete products by aligning dispatch execution with customer schedules, production capacity, and operational priorities.

The Logistics Manager provides leadership to Logistics Supervisor(s) and personnel and serves as a key operational partner to Ready Mix Sales, Plant Operations, Quality Control, and other internal teams. This position plays a critical role in balancing customer service expectations, operational efficiency, and business objectives in a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Dispatch & Logistics Operations

  • Lead daily Ready Mix dispatch operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable delivery of concrete products in accordance with customer schedules and operational priorities.
  • Oversee delivery sequencing and resource utilization to maximize efficiency while maintaining service expectations.
  • Monitor dispatch activity and adjust plans in real time to respond to production changes, weather impacts, customer needs, and other operational constraints.
  • Ensure logistics execution aligns with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements applicable to delivery operations.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Manage and develop Logistics Supervisor, providing clear direction, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Support the hiring, onboarding, training, and development of dispatch personnel.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels and coverage to support fluctuating demand and peak operating periods.

CrossFunctional Coordination

  • Partner closely with Ready Mix Sales, Plant Operations, Quality Control, and other internal stakeholders to align delivery plans with production capacity and customer commitments.
  • Serve as a primary escalation point for complex delivery or service issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Communicate operational constraints, schedule adjustments, and service impacts clearly and professionally.

Performance Management & Improvement

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators related to delivery reliability, fleet utilization, service levels, and labor efficiency.
  • Prepare and maintain reports related to delivery performance, customer service outcomes, and operational efficiency.
  • Identify trends and opportunities for improvement and implement process enhancements to improve reliability, efficiency, and customer experience.

Business Alignment

  • Execute logistics objectives in alignment with divisional and operational goals established by leadership.
  • Translate business priorities into actionable plans for dispatch teams.
  • Contribute operational insights and recommendations to management to support informed decision‑making.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional education in logistics, operations, or business preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of dispatch, logistics, or scheduling within Ready Mix concrete or a similarly time‑sensitive delivery environment.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or people leadership experience, preferably overseeing dispatch or operations teams.
  • Ready Mix concrete industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Multi-plant or multi-location dispatch management experience.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong working knowledge of Ready Mix dispatch operations and delivery logistics.
  • Experience with dispatch/logistics software (e.g., Command Alkon, Apex, Track It, Haul It, or similar systems).
  • Ability to analyze operational data and apply insights to improve performance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Customer‑focused mindset with demonstrated problem‑solving capability.
  • Ability to prioritize, adapt, and perform effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to build credibility and trust with internal and external stakeholders.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift, push, or pull objects of various dimensions up to 30 lbs. of weight occasionally.
  • Ability to perform primarily sedentary work and tolerate prolonged standing, sitting, and walking.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions such as typing and data entry using a keyboard and mouse.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
