This position works as a part of our management team. The ideal candidate is a proven leader who can effectively manage inventory, foster strong relationships with internal departments and external companies, and ensure all fuel sites adhere to established state and federal policies and programs.
The Logistics Manager oversees warehousing, inventory control, and vendor management operations of four parts rooms (one at four different vehicle maintenance facilities) that provide fleet parts for vehicles owned and operated by Fairfax County and Fairfax County Public Schools. Also, oversees the procurement, storage, distribution, and compliance of fuel supplies to ensure supply meets demand efficiently, while adhering to environmental and safety regulations at 54 fuel sites across the county. At times, may provide advice on the closure and new construction of fuel sites. Supervises activities related to the installation and maintenance of electric vehicle charging stations at various county facilities.

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in field related to the assigned functional area; plus, four years of professional work experience within the functional area.
Valid driver's license.
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, credit check, and driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer.
This position is emergency/essential services personnel. (Required to report for duty during inclement weather and/or other emergencies.)
Ability to conduct site visits from Government Center to remote work locations. Ability to operate keyboard-driven equipment. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
