Role Synopsis
The Logistics Lead CHINA helps deliver logistics category in to a region / asset and is based in that region / asset. They help ensure category activities, across the region / asset, are aligned to the categories and procurements strategic objectives as well as regions / assets strategic business priorities.
They liaise with other procurement teams to deliver their regions / assets priorities, e.g. working with categories to understand and deliver category plans in their region / asset or working with S2C on sourcing for their region / asset. They balance business needs with category plans ensuring they are in synergy.
They are the primary point of contact for suppliers to logistics category in their region and partner, collaborate, develop and support management of relationships with them, ensuring local needs are met. They also work with their peers across procurement to understand and share best practice and bring it to their region / asset, making their category more efficient and effective.
They have an understanding of and partner with the business to gather demand and challenge the business, where necessary, in order to deliver step changes in 3rd party spend by applying innovative solutions and change management. They have commercial acumen to help in delivering secure optimal, compliant, and competitive, risk-managed category outcomes.
Key Accountabilities
Category delivery in region / asset: Delivers a category in to a region / asset.
Team intergration: Helps to create and embraces a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement in their team, the business and other functional teams. Develops their technical skills and helps to represent the interests of their region / site / asset in their category, across procurement and the broader organization.
Supplier & Stakeholder Management: Uses storytelling to communicate with stakeholders and external partners, respectfully challenging to achieve the right outcomes, resolving conflict and focusing on priorities.
Transformation and Change Management: Assists in the delivery of modernization & transformation activities, leading optimization of regional category delivery, and creating incremental value, aligned to the broader category, procurement and business transformation agendas.
Essential Education:
Essential Experience and Job Requirements:
Functional knowledge: Must be adept at developing and maintaining business context including an understanding of strategic direction, priorities and stakeholders.
Business expertise: Stakeholder management and influencing skills in order to develop a deep understanding of the supported businesses / regions / assets and their priorities, including long term objectives.
Leadership: An SME, who assists with delivery of business and procurement priorities. Collaborates across their category the businesses, suppliers and beyond to achieve their regions / assets goals.
Problem solving: The ability to assist in partnering with the business to develop innovative solutions, clearing blockers and enabling delivery. Helps translate business requirements into a demand plan.
Interpersonal skills: The role demands good people skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.

Negligible travel should be expected with this role
