Logistics Head – Uganda
Location: Kampala, Uganda

Lead from the front and build something of your own — with global support behind you. Our client, a leading international logistics and shipping group, is looking for a hands-on and entrepreneurial Logistics Head to launch and grow their logistics operation in Uganda

Based in Kampala, this role is your opportunity to shape a business from the ground up. You’ll be the first hire on the ground — responsible for driving sales, developing customer relationships, and delivering logistics operations day-to-day. As the business grows, you’ll play a key role in building the local team and expanding its footprint across the region.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the setup and launch of the logistics entity in Uganda, managing both strategic and operational priorities

• Act as a standalone lead, responsible for sales, business development, and operational delivery

• Develop strong relationships with clients and partners to secure business and build long-term value

• Deliver freight forwarding and contract logistics services across air, sea, and land with operational excellence

• Ensure full compliance with Ugandan logistics regulations and industry standards

• Grow the business sustainably and recruit future team members as operations scale

• Report directly to regional leadership and collaborate closely with global teams

What You’ll Bring to the Table

• 10+ years’ experience in logistics, ideally with exposure to freight forwarding, contract logistics, and start-up environments

• Commercial mindset with a strong track record in sales and business development

• Hands-on approach with the ability to deliver and problem-solve independently

• Knowledge of the Ugandan logistics landscape, including regulatory requirements and market trends

• Strong customer orientation and stakeholder management skills

• Fluent in English; local language skills are a plus
