Ute Pass Regional Health Service District, Colorado
Logistics & Fleet Coordinator
(Support Services Coordinator / Fleet & Supply Coordinator)
Ute Pass Regional Health Service District is seeking a dependable, hands-on, and highly organized Logistics & Fleet Coordinator to support the readiness of the District’s fleet, facilities, equipment, and operational resources. This position plays a vital role in ensuring crews have the vehicles, supplies, equipment, and station support they need to provide safe, effective, and responsive patient care.

The Logistics & Fleet Coordinator is responsible for coordinating day-to-day logistics, fleet readiness, medical and station supply inventory, equipment maintenance, vendor coordination, asset tracking, and facility support across District locations. Working under the direction of the Deputy Chief of Operations, this position helps maintain operational consistency by proactively identifying needs, coordinating repairs and service, managing supplies and inventory, and ensuring vehicles and equipment remain ready for use.

This is a mobile, hands-on role that regularly travels between District stations and facilities. The position supports all shifts and crews by maintaining stocked supply areas, coordinating fleet and equipment service, tracking assets, assisting with facility upkeep, and communicating clearly with leadership and operational staff regarding open items, vendor issues, and readiness concerns.

Examples of duties

The ideal candidate is practical, proactive, and service-minded, with strong follow-through and a genuine commitment to supporting field crews and patient care. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, moving between locations, managing multiple priorities, and taking ownership of the logistical details that keep an EMS organization running smoothly.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to maintain accurate records, inventory systems, maintenance schedules, and asset tracking information
  • Proactive in identifying supply, equipment, vehicle, or facility needs before they affect operations
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to follow through on assignments without repeated direction
  • Comfortable coordinating with vendors, tracking service timelines, and communicating status updates to leadership and crews
  • Willing and able to perform hands-on work, including stocking, organizing, lifting, carrying, and moving supplies and equipment
  • Professional, respectful, and collaborative in interactions with crews, Captains, Lieutenants, vendors, and District leadership
  • Mission-aligned, with an understanding that operational readiness directly supports quality patient care

Qualifications

Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to manage inventory, coordinate vendors, and track assets with accuracy and organization
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license with an acceptable driving record — this role requires regular travel between District locations
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and inventory or asset management software
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to learn new systems, processes, and responsibilities quickly
  • Current Colorado EMT or Paramedic certification in good standing (within 30 days of hire)
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current NREMT certification
  • Proof of completed HBV series, TB test, and other immunizations as requested by the District
  • IV Certification
  • Current AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (if Paramedic)
  • Completion of National Incident Management System (NIMS) certifications: ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-700, and ICS-800 — required within three (3) months of hire
  • Completion of a District-approved Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) — required within one (1) year of hire
  • Must pass post-offer, pre-employment screening including background check, drug test, and driving history review in accordance with District policy
Preferred
  • Experience in logistics, supply chain, fleet management, facilities support, or a related field
  • Experience in an EMS, healthcare, public safety, or government operations environment
  • Experience with fleet management, vehicle maintenance coordination, or vehicle licensing processes
  • Familiarity with medical supply ordering, PPE management, or controlled substance adjacent logistics
  • Experience with asset management platforms (e.g. Asset Panda, First Due, or equivalent)

Supplemental information

Additional Information

  • Schedule Weekday schedule; specific days and hours established at hire based on organizational need and candidate fit. Schedule is consistent so crews know when this position is available but may be structured as four 10-hour days, five 8-hour days, or an equivalent arrangement. Schedule flexibility may be considered to attract qualified candidates.

Benefits

  • Health Coverage
    • Comprehensive Medical Insurance: Full-time staff are provided robust medical health coverage designed to mitigate high out-of-pocket costs typical of healthcare and high-acuity medical environments.
    • Additional Coverage: Dental and vision coverage options are typically integrated into the full-time employee health package.
    • Wellness Support: Job postings emphasize supportive health environments, which often include targeted wellness frameworks or stipends to help manage the physical and mental demands of mountain EMS work.
  • Retirement Plans
    • Robust Retirement Options: UPRHSD provides structured retirement plan options to help field medics, administrative staff, and leadership build long-term financial security. (As a Colorado special district, many similar entities align with state or competitive private-sector matching/pension frameworks to support long-term retention).
  • Holidays & Time Off
    • Paid Time Off (PTO): Generous, structured paid leave policies are built into full-time contracts.
    • Burnout Prevention: Given the intense nature of 24/7 emergency services and mountain rescue operations, PTO structures are intended to give personnel adequate rest and recovery time between shifts.

Why Work Here?

What uniquely draws clinicians and EMS professionals to this specific district includes:
  • Pioneering "Beyond the Ambulance" Medicine: Unlike traditional services that only run lights-and-sirens to an ER, UPRHSD gives paramedics and EMTs the platform to practice true Mobile Integrated Healthcare through their dedicated Community Paramedic programProviders handle everything from complex mental health interventions to in-home preventative treatments for residents who don't need the emergency room.
  • True Clinical Autonomy in High-Stakes Environments: Operating across a sprawling mountain district means providers regularly manage high-acuity trauma and multi-county corridor responses where critical thinking and advanced field autonomy are genuinely utilized, rather than just following rigid city-transit protocols.
  • Special District Support & Stability: Because it is an independent tax-funded special district rather than a private, for-profit transfer service, it provides local government-backed stability while offering tailored perks like fully funded healthcare packages and targeted wellness stipends meant to counter operational burn-out.
