Logistics Distribution Senior Specialist

General Summary:

The Logistics and Distribution Senior Specialist performs multiple activities in support of Vertex’s Supply Chain with limited supervision. Applies learned knowledge of logistics principles to execute upon production and inventory plans.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plans and executes time critical shipments.
  • Interacts with Chain of Identify software to plan and executive shipments.
  • Represents Supply Chain department on assigned project sub-teams and/or task forces and, with guidance, executes supply chain production activities.
  • Assists in process improvements to reduce lead-time and execute shipments and eliminate non-value add activities.
  • Participates in quality investigations.
  • Supports efforts to resolve issues that may block the timely flow of materials or projects.
  • Responsible for compliance with regulations such as Good Distribution Practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven ability to follow procedures for troubleshooting supply problems and escalating issues appropriately.
  • Displays emerging ability to effectively meet customer expectations.
  • Displays growing knowledge of applicable regulations (e.g., GMP. GCP, Part 11).
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and close follow-up on each shipment.
  • Ability to resolve logistical issues real-time with cross-functional stakeholder input as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific, business or related discipline
  • Typically requires 2 years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Pay Range

$47-$52/HR
