Logistics Coordinator Temp

The Logistics Coordinator Temp will provide operational and administrative support to the Import Logistics and Transportation team. This role is responsible for helping manage daily transactional work, carrier communication, drayage coordination, reporting, and exception follow-up to ensure timely movement of product through the supply chain network. This position will play a role in reducing operational bottlenecks, improving visibility to transportation issues, and supporting cross-functional communication with internal teams, carriers, and logistics partners. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, responsive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Logistics & Transportation Support

• Manage and process PO change requests to support transportation and supply chain operations.
• Monitor and follow up on carrier exceptions to ensure timely resolution and delivery performance.
• Support drayage management activities, including coordination with carriers and logistics partners during operational transitions.
• Assist in mitigating demurrage and detention exposure through proactive tracking and follow-up.
• Support ongoing communication and follow-up related to carrier requests and operational priorities.
• Track and maintain FAK (Freight All Kinds) decisions and updates in partnership with logistics leadership.

Reporting & Analytics

• Prepare and maintain operational reporting related to transportation and import activities, including:
  • Rail dwell reporting
  • Aging inventory in yard reporting
  • Drayage accuracy tracking
  • Wednesday delivery trend reporting
  • Weekly carrier performance decks
  • Import projection reporting and accuracy tracking
  • Carrier scorecard reporting
• Ensure reporting is accurate, timely, and distributed to appropriate stakeholders.

Communication & Coordination

• Partner with internal teams including Category Assistants, MSS teams, and Distribution Centers to support issue resolution and operational alignment.
• Communicate regularly with external carriers and logistics partners, primarily through email correspondence.
• Escalate operational risks, delays, or recurring issues to leadership as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or import operations preferred.
