We’re one of Europe’s fastest-growing digital manufacturing platforms, trusted by thousands of engineers to deliver manufactured parts faster, smarter and with less hassle.
Fractory is changing the way manufacturing works. Behind every successfully completed manufacturing project is a logistics operation that gets the right goods to the right place, at the right time.
We’re looking for a hands-on Logistics Coordinator to manage our daily shipment flows across the UK and Europe. You’ll organise pickups and deliveries, secure transport capacity, provide accurate transport pricing and keep our Sales team informed throughout every shipment.
This is not a role where you simply forward tracking numbers. You’ll be expected to understand what is happening, identify risks early and take ownership when plans change. From missed pickups and customs holds to urgent re-bookings and time-critical deliveries, you’ll be the person helping us keep goods moving.
If you know freight operations from the inside, stay calm when shipments go off-plan and enjoy solving real-world logistics problems, this could be the role for you.
• You have around 2–3 years of hands-on experience in a logistics coordinator, transport operator or freight-forwarding role.
• You understand the day-to-day reality of logistics operations, including bookings, collection windows, delivery requirements, carrier communication and shipment tracking.
• You have practical experience with cross-border road freight in the UK and EU, including customs documentation and post-Brexit UK–EU movements.
• You understand how transport pricing is built, including weight, volume, lane, mode, fuel costs and additional surcharges.
• You can assess the trade-offs between cost, speed and reliability when selecting a carrier or transport mode.
• You have established contacts among carriers, freight forwarders or trucking companies that can help when securing capacity, arranging urgent collections or pricing non-standard shipments.
• You communicate clearly and confidently with carriers, internal stakeholders and customers when necessary.
• You are highly organised, accurate and comfortable managing multiple shipments and priorities at the same time.
• You take ownership of problems rather than waiting for somebody else to resolve them.
• Have experience with sea or air freight, particularly Asia–Europe shipments.
• Have coordinated oversized, unusual, high-value or time-critical cargo.
• Have handled complex shipment disruptions such as damaged or lost cargo, customs holds, carrier shortages and failed collections.
• Have experience supporting commercial or Sales teams with project logistics and transport quotations.
• Are comfortable working with Google Workspace, logistics systems and digital communication tools.
You’ll manage the operational flow of shipments from Fractory’s manufacturing partners to our customers’ sites.
You’ll work closely with Sales and other internal teams to plan transport, calculate logistics costs, book suitable carriers and provide reliable updates throughout each shipment. When something changes, you’ll coordinate the response and make sure the relevant people know what is happening.
You will have a direct impact on delivery reliability, customer experience and project profitability.
• Coordinating regular pickups and deliveries across the UK and EU.
• Making sure collections and deliveries happen according to plan and resolving delays promptly.
• Tracking active shipments and keeping shipment information accurate and current in our internal systems.
• Acting as the main communication link between carriers, freight forwarders and the Sales team.
• Providing clear, real-time updates about delivery status, delays and operational risks.
• Requesting, comparing and negotiating transport quotations.
• Helping Sales price and plan complex or time-sensitive customer projects.
• Selecting suitable carriers and transport modes based on cargo requirements, cost, speed and reliability.
• Booking capacity with freight forwarders, trucking companies and other logistics partners.
• Coordinating customs documentation and supporting UK–EU cross-border movements.
• Responding to missed pickups, delayed shipments, damaged cargo, customs holds and capacity shortages.
• Arranging urgent re-bookings and alternative transport solutions when the original plan is no longer workable.
• Building and maintaining productive relationships with carriers and logistics partners.
• Identifying recurring logistics issues and helping the wider team improve how shipments are planned and managed.
• Stay composed and practical when several things require attention at once.
• Communicate problems early and provide solutions rather than vague status updates.
• Pay close attention to shipment details, documents, addresses, dates and pricing.
• Know when to follow the process and when a situation requires a faster, more creative solution.
• Can prioritise effectively without needing constant managerial direction.
• Enjoy a fast-moving operational role with real ownership and visible results.
