Job Description

The International Logistics Coordinator supports import and export shipments across ocean, air, road, and rail. This role coordinates with carriers, government agencies, customers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure shipments are booked, documented, tracked, and compliant with applicable requirements.

of Essential Job Functions

  • Work under the operational direction of team leaders.
  • Coordinate customer shipments with carriers and government agencies across all modes of transportation, including road, rail, air, and ocean.
  • Prepare required shipment documentation, including House and Master Bills of Lading, delivery orders, Dangerous Goods forms, and other documents required by customers and carriers.
  • Perform general freight forwarding duties related to import, export, ocean, and air shipments, including:
  • Booking cargo with ocean carriers
  • Screening export orders for export compliance
  • Preparing international shipping documentation
  • Tracking shipments and providing status updates
  • Communicating with customers, vendors, carriers, and internal teams

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree strongly preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in freight forwarding, manufacturing logistics, distribution logistics, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and a good understanding of geography.
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with customers and vendors.
  • Strong problem-solving and logical reasoning skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong sense of urgency and work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • General knowledge of global supply chains, freight forwarding, logistics, and domestic and international transportation.
  • Familiarity with air, ocean, road, and rail freight.
  • Understanding of Incoterms, Harmonized Tariff systems, and applicable import/export regulations.
  • Knowledge of CargoWise.
  • Letter of credit and import procedure knowledge.
  • Dangerous Goods certification.
