POSITION MISSION

Under the responsibility of the Mediterranean Logistics Manager, the Logistics Coordinator – France/Belgium is the main point of contact for all operational matters related to projects during the preparation and execution phases of abnormal transport operations.

You will coordinate schedules in close collaboration with site managers, production facilities, and suppliers (shipowners, ports, transport companies), ensuring the smooth performance of the logistics chain.

You will be responsible for ensuring safety (people and goods), cost control, and optimization.

The position is based at Nordex France headquarters in La Plaine Saint-Denis (France). Projects are primarily located in France and Belgium and may extend to other countries within the Mediterranean region.

Travel abroad may be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Transport Management: Organize the delivery of wind turbine components to construction sites for assigned projects, ensuring optimal safety, on-time delivery, budget compliance, and equipment integrity.
  • Schedule Coordination: Collaborate closely with suppliers (shipowners, port operators, transport companies), production sites, global logistics, and project teams to ensure consistent and efficient planning.
  • Supplier Management: Oversee subcontracted logistics services, including port operations and final deliveries.
  • Risk Management: Identify, anticipate, and manage logistics risks (capacity constraints, transport permits, road adjustments, potential delays) while ensuring compliance with Nordex standards.
  • Budget Preparation: Contribute to project budgets during the tender phase (road surveys, logistics costs, infrastructure work).
  • Road Survey Assessment: Evaluate route feasibility and safety.
  • Cost Optimization: Update budgets with latest forecasts, optimize expenses, and proactively identify risks and opportunities.
  • Sourcing: Prepare scopes of work for domestic transport and assess supplier performance.
  • Administrative Tasks: Manage administrative activities such as requests for quotations and purchase orders.
  • Reporting and Communication: Provide regular reports and ensure clear communication on transport and customs activities with all stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving: Analyze delivery incidents or transport quality issues and contribute to their resolution.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support the optimization and improvement of internal processes.
  • Customs Support: Provide operational support to the customs department.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

  • 5 to 8 years of professional experience in logistics, preferably in oversize transport
  • Strong knowledge of local transport permitting regulations
  • Experience in route surveys, road infrastructure adaptations, and coordination with public authorities and construction companies is a plus
  • Proficiency with IT tools, project management methodologies, and financial tracking
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Valid driving license
