Logistics Coordinator - Berkeley, CA

Logistics Coordinator

The purpose of this role is to ensure the efficient coordination and execution of logistics and warehouse activities that support biologics development, clinical, and commercial manufacturing operations. As a Logistics Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring compliance with regulations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics function.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead inventory counts, manage cycle counting processes, create and maintain WMM master data, and oversee JIT inventory control;
  • Schedule inbound delivery appointments, check and document incoming materials, and manage VMI materials;
  • Generate Transfer Orders, support building changeovers, and participate in PSS huddles;
  • Coordinate site shipments, manage temperature-controlled freight, and handle non-inventory shipments;
  • Oversee the scrap/write-off process and maintain relevant documentation;
  • Manage assigned assets, coordinate maintenance, and create purchase requisitions;
  • Support safety programs, ensure compliance with regulations, and maintain audit readiness;
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the site’s warehouse strategy;
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, providing training and direction as needed.

WHO YOU ARE:

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent;
  • 4–8 years of relevant warehouse/logistics experience in pharmaceutical/biotech operations or vocational training with relevant experience;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel required), strong SAP Warehouse Management skills, and familiarity with SAP P2R/APO.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • APICS or other supply chain certification;
  • Forklift certification;
  • Experience in a union environment.

Financial Magnitudes:

  • Responsible for managing logistics-related budgets, including operational supplies and services;
  • Monitor and optimize costs associated with inventory management, shipping, and logistics operations to ensure efficient use of resources.

Key Performance Metrics / KPIs:

  • Maintain KPIs including inventory accuracy (cycle count variance), PO/Transfer Order processing.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $65,000.00 to $105,000.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.

This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
