The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing operational and administrative activities related to import/export flows, shipments (both maritime and road transport), and customs processes. The role ensures efficient logistics operations, regulatory compliance, cost optimization, and effective coordination among internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and supervise import/export activities, with a strong focus on maritime shipments and road transport operations.
Plan, monitor, and optimize domestic and international logistics flows, ensuring compliance with timelines, costs, and quality standards.
Manage and negotiate commercial and contractual terms with freight forwarders, carriers, port operators, shipping lines, customs brokers, and road transport companies.
Select logistics service providers and propose cost-effective transport solutions.
Oversee customs documentation and ensure proper execution of import/export procedures.
Ensure compliance with national and international customs and trade regulations.
Monitor lead times, identify operational issues (delays, extra costs, transport disruptions), and implement corrective actions.
Coordinate and support logistics operational staff, acting as a technical and organizational reference point.
Analyze logistics data and prepare reports on performance, transport costs, and logistics KPIs.
Collaborate with procurement, supply chain, and finance teams to continuously improve logistics processes.
Requirements
Solid experience in logistics roles, preferably within import/export and customs environments.
Strong knowledge of customs procedures and import/export documentation.
Proven experience in managing maritime shipments and coordinating road transport.
Strong negotiation skills with freight forwarders and transport service providers.
Good command of English for communication with international partners and colleagues.
Strong proficiency in IT tools and logistics/customs management systems (advanced Excel skills).
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and results-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
Experience in coordinating teams or operational resources.
Strong knowledge of international supply chain processes.
