Job Description

Job Location: El Reno Manufacturing - El Reno, OK 73036
Position Type: Full TimeKey Responsibilities
Transportation Planning, Execution & Stakeholder Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for field service and manufacturing teams for all freight-related requests
- Plan, build, and optimize shipments within the TMS, selecting the most effective mode (private fleet, LTL, or external carrier partners)
- Consolidate shipments and execute load tenders through TMS integrations (EDI/API/email)
- Maintain accurate shipment data, routing guides, and carrier selections
Fleet & Carrier Coordination
- Dispatch and monitor private fleet operations, ensuring alignment with driver availability, HOS, and equipment readiness
- Execute LTL tenders using contracted rates and TMS rate shopping tools
- Coordinate capacity with asset-based and non-asset carrier partners when internal resources are insufficient
- Manage carrier quotes, load awards, and shipment tracking within the TMS
- Monitor carrier performance for service reliability and cost effectiveness
Shipment Visibility & Exception Management
- Track shipments in real time using TMS visibility tools
- Identify and resolve service failures, delays, and missed pickups
- Manage delivery appointments, status updates, and issue communication with stakeholders
Cost Control, Insurance & Audit
- Optimize mode and routing decisions to control freight spend
- Minimize accessorial charges through proactive planning
- Evaluate and arrange additional shipment insurance on a per-load basis based on value or risk
- Support freight audit processes by validating invoices against TMS records and resolving discrepancies
Claims Management (Freight & Small Package)
- Manage claims for loss, damage, or shortage across LTL, truckload, and carrier partner shipments
- Administer small package (parcel) claims, including filing, documentation, tracking, and resolution
- Maintain accurate claim documentation using TMS data, PODs, and supporting materials
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all shipping documents (BOLs, PODs, rate confirmations) are accurate and stored in the TMS
- Maintain compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and company policies
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Generate regular and ad hoc reports from the TMS (on-time performance, cost, utilization, performance)
- Prepare and distribute end-of-month reporting summarizing transportation performance, cost trends, service metrics, and key issues
- Identify trends and recommend process improvements
- Support TMS data integrity and system optimization

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or dispatch
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and logistics technology platforms
Preferred

Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with a Transportation Management System (TMS)
- Experience dispatching a private fleet using a TMS
- Familiarity with EDI/API integrations and automated tendering
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and Hours-of-Service (HOS)
- Experience with freight audit and claims management
- Strong understanding of LTL shipping, carrier selection, and freight classification (NMFC)
