This role is to support the efficient coordination of both internal and external transportation activities, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods, while maintaining transport records and overseeing transportation performance. The candidate will work closely with the warehouse shift supervisor to optimize transportation operations and contribute to improved delivery performance. Expected outcomes include achieving high Delivery In Full, On Time (DIFOT) scores, maintaining accurate transport records, and effectively managing relationships with transport vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Book and coordinate internal and external transportation.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transport activities.
  • Perform data entry into relevant systems for transportation tracking.
  • Generate and analyze DIFOT (Delivery In Full, On Time) reports to monitor and improve delivery performance.
  • Process and manage invoices related to transportation services.
  • Oversee pallet management and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Maintain and update Transport Management Systems (TMS).
  • Receive and process incoming raw materials upon arrival.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with transport companies to review performance and address operational issues.

This role ensures that transportation operations are streamlined, costs are managed, and service levels meet company standards.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transport and logistics, preferably with experience in the food manufacturing industry. They must demonstrate excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities. The candidate should be proficient in SAP or similar ERP systems, with a solid understanding of Transport Management Systems (TMS) and load planning.

Key Attributes:

  • Experience: 3-5 years in a similar role, with a strong preference for candidates with food manufacturing experience.
  • Skills: Proficient in SAP (or similar ERP systems) and TMS software; intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively manage stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and time management to ensure efficiency in transportation and delivery operations.
  • Organization: Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple priorities, including load planning and timeslot management.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work seamlessly with other teams to drive operational success and improve performance.
