Job Description

Main responsibilities:

  • Maintain and strengthen relationship with current supplier & shipping lines
  • Ensure timely contract execution
  • Coordinate day-to-day export logistics operations
  • Send shipping instructions /check shipping line nomination/validity of service contract
  • Proactively identify operational risks & bottlenecks appropriately escalating to logistics manager
  • Communicate status of shipment after loading
  • Receive & share booking confirmation
  • Ensure accurate & timely communication of shipment updates, delays & changes
  • Coordinate with QC and Operations Teams to schedule, monitor and follow up loading & sampling
  • Monitor documentation accuracy & completeness & avoid delays
  • Support Logistics manager in contract execution planning
  • Proactively engage shippers for timely document execution
  • Assist in setting departmental Sop’s & KPI’s
  • Ensure shippers are fully compliant with destination & client requirements
  • Advise tentative shipping schedule
  • Checking container availability status and communicating with internal Team for Shipping line option
  • Support exporters in issuing export docs as needed
  • Optimize shipments planning in line with contract execution schedules
  • Coordinate with commercial & QC Teams for on time execution of contracts in all aspects
  • Get original docs dispatched with in 14days after vessel sail date
  • Receive & share timely Export documentations
  • Get payment advice /Payment request for CAD/LC contracts

Qualifications

Knowledge and experience:

  • Perfect communication is required with the rest of the team in Addis as well as LDC group.
  • Solid motivation and dedication to LDC’s work
  • 3-5 Years Logistics experience preferably in a multinational (commodities or coffee)
  • Language preferred both English and Amharic
  • Ability to anticipate and avoid problems, and Constant pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Interactions/ interface:

  • She/he liaises with other functions and LDC offices (both inside and outside the region) in respect to operations and logistics.
  • She/he also develops and sustains productive relationships with external parties (shippers, banks, suppliers, etc.)
