Job Purpose

The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the best and accurate cost-effective freight rates for the company. This position organizes negotiated terms in correlation with brokers and logistics management to coordinate timely movement of materials to ensure project completions. This role will also administering daily operations for Tags, Insurance, logistic documents and record-keeping.

Duties and Responsibilities 1.Freight Quotes organizer, planner and implementor:a.Engage in negotiations with brokers for cost-effective rates in best interest for the companyb.Coordinate the selection of shipping carriers and scheduling of pickups with freight lines /dispatchers as to:i.Maximize time-efficiency that affect Synthetic Turf Resources and AstroTurf’s business and Customer Service requirementsii.Ensuring we have the most cost-efficient freight rate plan in place with each carrierc.Correlate workflow with all areas of operations and Customersi.Warehouses: Crystal, Kenner, Callahanii.Manufacturing: Coater, Shipping & Receivingd.Assist Tracking of Import/Export of goods and services with Logistics managere.Logistical experience to better assist in dispatching trucks and drivers2.Records and Data Retention:a.Foster an organized, intuitive, and resourceful approach in handling time-sensitive datab.Experience with data entry and data interpretation utilizing CAMS systemsi.Wrike – updating shipments’ data in Wrike for accuracyc.Maintain freight records and data in excel programmingi.Keep accurate records to be forwarded to upper level managementd.Manage inflow of documents and filing of items receivedi.Billing Documentationii.Commercial invoicese.Direct correlation with Customer service for proper freight quotes for the lien they requested3.Warehouse Functions and Operations:a.Verify shipped loads are adequate with discrepancies correctedb.Assist in housekeeping functionsc.Enforce safe practices and address any corrective actions from team members fostering a safe work environmentd.PIT Operations – Loading and unloadinge.Inventory control – counting and checking4.Manage daily operations related to vehicle tags, insurance, logistics documentation, and record-keeping.a.Ensure all vehicle tag renewals are completed on time.b.Verify that all drivers maintain valid and current insurance cards.c.Review, process, and approve toll bills accurately.d.Manage and resolve all fleet-related fines.e.Contact clients to collect outstanding or delayed payments.f.Enter and maintain Delmars invoices in tracking spreadsheets.g.Prepare UPS shipments, including label creation and package handling.h.Process and prepare outgoing mail.i.Address any issues that require visiting the local tag office.j.Manage HUT (Highway Use Tax) information renewals.k.Review and approve shipping freight invoices.l.Ensure speeding tickets are paid and assign payroll deductions to the appropriate employee.m.Oversee toll pass accounts, including maintenance and record-keeping.n.Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications



Qualifications

•Education: HS diploma/GED required•

Experience: 2-3 years’ experience logistical experience with freight and DOT requirements•Courses/Certifications/Training: CLASS-A CDL EXPERIENCE PREFERRED•Superior written and verbal communication skills, innovative, forecasting, forward-thinking, Geographical savvy, anddriver orientated•Familiar with personal computers with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office•

Bilingual preferred
