Logistics Controller, Durban, R35,000-R39,000 CTC

(Basic salary, medical aid, provident fund)

Looking for a dynamic and proactive Logistics Controller with strong background in logistics coordination, fleet management, and store controls, with the ability to lead and implement effective systems in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• A relevant tertiary qualification in logistics, operations, or supply chain management will be advantageous.
• A minimum of 10 years experience in a similar role, preferably within a technical or fleet-based environment.
• Must possess a valid, unendorsed drivers licence.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills, with a focus on process adherence and document control.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for reporting and inventory tracking.
• High attention to detail and a quality-driven mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the tools and consumables store, ensuring accurate tracking and availability of inventory.
• Implement and maintain robust stores control procedures to support operational efficiency and accountability.
• Oversee and coordinate transport logistics, including driver scheduling and allocation.
• Ensure full legal compliance and oversee the maintenance and operational readiness of the Durban fleet.
• Handle accident investigations, reporting protocols, and manage insurance claims in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
• Supervise yard security and maintain a professional relationship with the contracted security service provider.
