WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Role:

The Logistics Assistant will manage and streamline the global movement of raw materials and finished goods for our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for coordinating international shipments, ensuring compliance with trade regulations, and supporting timely delivery of goods to and from production facilities, suppliers, and customers worldwide.

Please note that this is a 6 month temporary contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with coordinating international and domestic shipments via air, sea, and land.
  • Enter, update, and maintain accurate data in ERP systems and logistics databases.
  • Prepare and organize shipping and customs documents, such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and USMCA
  • Verify data for accuracy and completeness, including shipment records and customs information.
  • Track shipments and provide status updates to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Organize and maintain digital and physical logistics files for easy access and audit readiness.
  • Communicate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transportation providers to resolve basic shipping or documentation issues.
  • Assist in generating logistics files and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes, international shipping standards, Incoterms, and data confidentiality policies.
  • Support general administrative and clerical functions within the logistics department.

WHO YOU ARE:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in Logistics, Business, or a related field is an asset.
  • 1–2 years of experience in a logistics, supply chain, data entry, or administrative support role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in data entry.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with NetSuite (ERP System) would be an asset. 
  • Understanding of HTS codes and classification processes.
  • Knowledge of international trade agreements and sanctions (e.g., USMCA).
  • Experience with bonded warehousing and freight consolidation.

Skills:

  • Intermediate to Advance Level competency with MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook. 
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, both written and oral forms. 
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
