The Logistics and Production Control (PC) General Manager (GM) is a key leadership position with departmental responsibility for Logistics and Production Control (PC) groups to support our automatic transmission manufacturing plant in Cibolo, Texas.

They will provide leadership and strategic support to manufacturing operations producing complex automotive components, while building strong partnerships with management and department leaders to drive a safe, high-quality, and efficient production environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead Logistics and Production Control across production planning, supplier and material flow management, new product and model launches, and demand, inventory, and shipping execution to meet customer requirements.
  • Responsible for generating plant productivity and manpower management analysis and reports.
  • Optimize operational resources by driving cost efficiency, inventory discipline, and capacity alignment with business forecasts.
  • Foster a positive work environment centered on compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and report departmental targets, goals to include budgeting, labor, fixed assets, schedules, data, tours, and future planning.
  • Responsible for resolving issues, coordinating operations, negotiating with and requesting cooperation from related departments, other departments and external parties.
  • Maintain a total cost perspective with lean manufacturing mindset by identifying obsolescence drivers and effectively communicating solutions to 3rd party logistics providers.
  • Engage and motivate Assistant Managers, Group Leaders, Team Leaders and Team Members to follow and adhere to company policies and objectives regarding safety, quality, environmental and information security.
  • Works closely with Human Resources by providing key information that helps create and maintain a work environment that attracts, motivates and retains quality team members.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the Toyota Production System (TPS).
  • Knowledge of automotive manufacturing.
  • Lead and track continuous improvement activities.
  • Lead and track abnormal occurrences in the plant.
  • Lead IATF16949 compliance within the manufacturing department and implement procedures.
  • Ability to set key performance indicators, track progress, and implement activity as needed for the manufacturing HOSHIN.
  • Manage labor, expense, fixed asset budgets within the manufacturing department.
  • Manage manufacturing preventative maintenance, cleaning, standard work, & 4S+D condition.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to speak and present to large groups.
  • Ability to lead "white board" discussions to chart and better understand ATX processes.
  • Ability to interact and work as a team within all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications, Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Administration or Supply Chain Management or equivalent work experience required. If equivalent work experience, must have High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 10 years of applicable manufacturing experience required. Production Planning/Supply Chain Management, Sales, Procurement, and Logistics.
  • Minimum 5 years of applicable manufacturing management experience required.
  • Knowledge of automotive manufacturing industry, total quality management systems, electronic data interchange (EDI). Logistics and PC best practices are required.
  • Experience in an International/Foreign global company/Customs Clearance.
  • Good level of knowledge in lean production concepts such as OEE, KANBAN, FIFO, BOM.
  • Familiar with problem solving, waste/loss prevention methods and setup time improvement (e.g. SMED).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a company with over 100 employees.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
