Analyst position responsible for coordinating outbound and inbound shipments from Sasol plants and explant locations and having required logistics assets in place to meet external and internal needs. Provide guidance/recommendations to internal Sasol groups (Operations. Planning and Optimization, Customer Service) on how to optimize loading/unloading and shipments to best minimize impact of infrastructure and logistics assets constraints.
· Accurately review and prepare Logistics invoices for payment (ie railcar lease rental, railcar storage and approve maintenance charges).
· Work with 3PL to review/approve railcar freight assessorial charges within rail carrier websites for accuracy and dispute those that have errors. Approve the invoices for payment once disputes have been resolved.
· Working closely with RRs and 3PL to track cars and communicate to all impacted parties.
· Work closely with 3PL, Customer Service and RR to troubleshoot billing issues in a timely manner.
· Ability to work as part of a team for collaboration as well as back up coverage.
· Enter and maintain accurate railcar information in SAP. Ensure railcar maintenance (regulatory and operating requirements) is completed timely with minimal impact on railcar supply / availability.
· Assist and support the Finance/Accounting/CS team during month-end/year-end closing processes.
· Maintain accurate freight cost information in SAP so the actual supply chain costs are included in the price of the products we ship.
· Work with the rail service providers to secure freight rates for new customers and create routes in SAP so shipments can be made to meet forecasted demand. Maintain freight data base in SAP and update as required.
· Maintain ongoing relationships and communicate daily with internal stakeholders such as Customer Service, Strategic Sourcing, IPL and Plant Logistics to meet loading/unloading plant/explant schedules and customer shipment needs.
· Work in compliance with the Quality Management System requirements. Utilizes proactive and/or reactive approach to prevent, correct and inform Customer Service Representatives on events that could result in non-conformances.
· High School / School Diploma or similar with 5+ years of customer service and transportation experience
· University Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years of customer service and transportation experience
· Proficient in Microsoft Office- excel, word, power point; working knowledge of SAP preferred
· Effective communication skills both oral and written
· Strong organizational skills
· Strong analytical background with ability to solve problems quickly and effectively.
· Efficient, detailed oriented when reviewing / analyzing service provider charges for accuracy and taking action to resolve all invoice disputes. Ability to handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment. Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Finance, Customer Service) and service providers to resolve transportation issues.
