Job Description
The Logistics Analyst – MV Specialist is responsible for the creation of Manifestaciones de Valor for all southbound shipments and any other import, and presenting them in a timely manner before customs according to new guidelines of SAT. It will be responsible for managing them through eConnect. It will maintain record readily available for audits. This role will also serve as back-up for the Logistics team.
FUNCIONES PRINCIPALES / CORE FUNCTIONS
Actividades / Activities:
Sole responsibility for MV compliance, documentation control, and coordination with customs brokers and internal departments.
- Preparation and Review of Customs Valuation Declarations
Prepare, review, and validate Customs Valuation Declarations (Manifestaciones de Valor) to ensure accuracy and compliance with Mexican customs regulations.
- Verification of Supporting Documentation
Collect and review all supporting documents such as commercial invoices, purchase orders, contracts, freight costs, insurance, and royalty agreements to ensure the declared customs value is properly supported.
- Compliance with Customs Regulations
Ensure that all valuation processes comply with Mexican Customs Law, the WTO Customs Valuation Agreement, and other applicable regulations.
- Coordination with Customs Brokers
Work closely with customs brokers to provide the necessary documentation and information required for customs clearance and proper declaration of customs value.
- Analysis of Valuation Elements
Identify and analyze elements that must be included in the customs value, such as assists, royalties, commissions, freight, and insurance costs.
- Maintenance of Valuation Files and Records
Maintain organized and auditable records of all valuation declarations and supporting documentation for compliance and audit purposes.
- Internal Communication and Data Collection
Coordinate with procurement, logistics, finance, and legal departments to obtain accurate information required for valuation declarations.
- Risk Identification and Compliance Monitoring
Detect potential customs valuation risks and discrepancies that could lead to penalties or adjustments by customs authorities.
- Support During Audits
Provide documentation and explanations to customs authorities or internal auditors during customs reviews or audits related to valuation.
- Continuous Improvement of Valuation Processes
Propose improvements to internal procedures to strengthen compliance and efficiency in customs valuation processes.
REQUISITOS / QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Educación y Experiencia / Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Trade, Logistics, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in logistics and foreign trade.
- Familiar with VUCEM
